Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

This kinda reminds me when you look out into space and the blackness turns into a spider shaped... thing, Babylon 5 of course. I'd **** my pants if I saw that in the void.

This seems like Vaygr BC turns Chaos (as in WH40k).

Dark shadow... spikes... Scary.

Ssso, hero BC that appears if you have heavy losses?

Question: Will there be Battle for the Dark Star? I liked Eclipse map with one-sided lighting, and feel that this map will be interesting too.

actually he's just a hero like the others and is summoned based on number of enemy ships killed by RU value. I had to think of something nice to put in the description and that just does not sound very... scary.

There will be a dark star map. Every background I make which looks good enough will eventually have a map for it - even if most of them are just placeholders now.

That would be a really nice map, especially if it was all really dark like that. Is it a map?

Whoah, looks exactly like the fish deep in the dark ocean. Massive, lumbering and oddly threatening, this thing will surely take some metal down before it goes kaboom.

By the way, once you get it, does it launch a couple squadrons of fighters out of its docking bay?

It has a squadron that is slaved to the battlecruiser and defends it from enemy attacks.

Description

Deep within the Vaygr Reaches there is a burnt out star nearing the end of its life. Casting only sparse light on the planets that once orbited it, Dark Star is only rarely visited - even by the Vaygr Warlords. It is said to be the home of dark... things... the things of nightmares.

Few know the truth about the Dark Star.

Makaan himself only ventured there once on the Great Crusade to Hiigara. He would return from this place with four machines never seen in this galaxy before. It is said that Makaan left one Battlecruiser behind at this fateful place, equipped with a full complement of fighters to defend the treasures he had found there until he returned - victorius - from Hiigara.

With Makaan's death the location of Dark Star has been greatly forgotten, its importance lost with the great Messiah's passing. But one crew remembers the location. One captain calls it home. One ship prowls the darkness of space near the dying star, keeping away those unworthy from the secrets the darkness there protects.

Known as the Shadow Hunter, it is said that this captain, this Crew, will aid any Vaygr fleet who calls for him in times of dire need. That he will venture forth from the Dark Star to appear wherever in the galaxy he is needed most - only to fade away once combat has been concluded, never opening communications channels, never breaking the oath of silence Makaan swore the Crew to upon leaving them at this fateful place.
