Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

Well, even if their initial stats are a bit weak, the ******* awesome looks make up for that.

Technically the Naabal during the final days of Kharak were more politicians than the industrial and technological power they once were. Kiith LiirHra were the space age industrial power during the construction of the Scaffold and Mothership.

Of course, the individual Kiiths have not been given much attention in the HW2 era, so the industrial power could have shifted back to Naabal.

Kiith Kaalel (the scribes, historians, and intelligence personel)
Kiith Magann (member was first test subject for cryogenic freezing)
Kiith Gaalsien (major player in the Heresy Wars)
Kiith Siidim (major player in the Heresy Wars)
Kiith Jaraci (member discovered the Khar-Toba)

Homeworld.wikia.com

I have to agree that giving each Kiith a place in the mod would be overkill, especially since some don't seem to exist in the HW2 era, and others are simply footnotes in the annals of Hiigaran/Kushan history.

In the HW2 era all your mentioned kiithid are really footnotes, but in HW:C era these were one of the biggest and powerful, the major ones:
1.Nabaal - engineers and politicians after all;
2.Kaalel - assassins, spies, journalists;
3.Sobani - mercenaries;
4.LiirHra - space industry, consuming Hraal in HW:C, now are industrial kiith;
5. Paktu - on Kharak I guess, it was the second after Nabaal, as they had all the South Pole; their role - politicians and traders;
6. Manaani - famous scout pilots, diplomats and artists;
7. Sjet - scientists, forming some kind of Alliance with Nabaali, according to the Sjet history;
8. Somtaaw - you know these guys, the smallest of the biggest, the biggest of the smallest );

And the Tambuur - somelike hiigaran raiders or FBI.

So who we can take?
1) Tambuur - it would be interesting to play raider style;
2) Somtaaw - special miner-zealot tech;
3) Sobani - special tactics and weaponry;
4) Nabaali - they could represent existing fleet;
5) LiirHra - some extra ships;
6) Sjet - some extra tech;

Well, okey, Paktu and Kaalel are more society kiithid, also Manaani are - of course, I guess, they would have faster engines )))
But okey, these all kiithid have a potential of use a little bit modernized old kushani ships.

We currently have 12 tech levels of hiigaran tech. More tech than any other race. I'm afraid implementation is already underway and there is no space for more kiiths in multiplayer. I may bring them into singleplayer but MP is a no-go.

scratch that, we have to rework the hiigaran tech tree entirely, may be asking for input from oru fans here once we have several possible options laid out.

Too many Kiiths will mean too much choice! :P

In hw2 nabaal controls most of the shipyards afaik unless i misread. Worst case, power shifted im the 50 years since hw2. And i know there are more kiithid in the hw universe. It just gets way too complex as the hiigs already have 12 tech levels and a ton of research.

Yeah, it took me forever to finish it! ;) It was great to see a non-Relic SP map. No offence to Relic, though, coz they brought us the great HW universe. [/sucking up]

Description

It's been a long wait and people have been asking for it for a long time: Reworking the Hiigarans. But that wait is over. It's the Hiigaran Empire's turn now and they are not going to disappoint.

It will still be some time until the entire tech tree has been implemented but to give you an idea of how it will work, let me take the example of the Blade Mk II interceptor.

This is a basic fighter that any shipyard or carrier in the Imperial Navy can build. The basic spaceframe is simple, rugged and can easily be manufactured - but it's also unspectacular.

However, as an Imperial Fleet Detachment gains support of various kiithid, upgrades can improve the performance of said fighter.

Kiith Nabaal, the masters of Industrial Production, will enforce Production Standards on all ships in your fleet, bringing Armor Plating and Thuster quality up to their standards.

Kiith Soban, the great Warriors of Hiigara, will train your pilots to be more accurate and hit their targets where they are weakest.

Kiith Somtaaw, the Explorers and Miners, will provide unique technology not common to the Empire which they have gained knowledge of on their travels, offering expertise no other Kiith can.

And finally, Kiith S'jet, the zealous men and women of science, will offer advanced - often experimental - technology no one has seen before!

Any detachment of the Imperial Fleet can gain the support of all the Kiiths at once. However their technology does not come cheap. It will often require quite some time to fully flesh out your fleet. This means it is crucial that you decide which technology you require earlier and what can wait.

In the case of the Blade Mk II this means you get an Armor, Damage, Accuracy and Cloak upgrade. I'll let you guess which kiith gives which upgrade.

And in case you're wondering, the little wings on this modified Blade? They extend when the ship cloaks itself. In normal flight they are kept retracted in order to not damage the sensitive electronics within.
