You are Jack Conway, a former Detective Inspector and veteran of the Great War, now working as a Private Investigator. You are currently assigned to nearby Providence, Rhode Island assisting the local police with a recent problematic case; a string of unexplained disappearances, most of whom are young women. On day three, with no real leads and the investigation seemingly going nowhere, you are contacted by a mysterious Dr. Albert Landström; apparently a local resident and physician, whom seems to have intimate knowledge of the case. That was the last thing you remember, as you suddenly awaken in the cellar of a strange house, your whereabouts unknown. Can you piece together this puzzle and escape unscathed? Read More...

I can't believe a year has gone by since the release of the Parasomnia demo and I've been overwhelmed with the response and how it has been received by everyone.

So this will be a brief update on how things are going, the first level (the house from the demo) has been tweaked and improved. I've fixed the glitch which caused objects to fall through the floor and the frame rate should be a bit smoother too.

I've added more speech to the game, for example; if you pick up a chair or touch a picture, Jack will say something appropriate to that object.

I've edited the light casting objects in the game to provide real time shadows, so for example; if you throw something at a ceiling light, the shadows will be realistically rendered as the light moves when the object sways.

All in all, I have four nicely detailed levels. The first two are finished and the latter two need a bit more work. I've been working really hard on this on and off for the last year, it takes a long time to reach the kind of quality bar I'm looking for, especially when you're a one man team and have real life time constraints; so apologies for the length of time this is taking.

I'm still not sure when the full game will be ready, sometime after AAMFP I would imagine and I may release it in two parts.

Finally, thanks to everyone who played the demo and left feedback or rated it.

I have a problem that there are no enemies at any point in this mod. The idea was good, but I just hope that there are monsters in part 2. There will be a part 2, right?

Thanks for your interest in the mod. If you finished the demo, you should have encountered a grunt in the guest room.

I'm currently working on the full Parasomnia release, but development is slow due to the little time I get to devote to this project.

Sorry this reply comes so late, I've been having trouble replying to messages on here.

Parasomnia is a bit heavy on shadows. Have you tried paying with shadow quality and resolution? Also, SSAO samples and resolution have a massive impact on performance.

Strangely, I finished the demo without entering the guest room. It said the lock was broken and U just went ahead and made the explosive. Was there something important in there? Also, why did it lag so much?

I'm having "glitches" it would appear, I can't continue the story because everything keeps looping, it gets really difficult because the loop has spawn 3 monsters in the first area, constantly patrolling and im getting frustrated. Any ideas on what may be happening?

Sorry about that. Unfortunately in Amnesia, when you die; enemies disappear!

Late on in development, I added a script area to add the grunt back in if he's not active. To be honest, I didn't see the issue that you're experiencing during testing.

This won't be a problem in the full release as I've changed things around a bit.

Also, did you download the latest version of the demo? It should fix the Hammer & Chisel bug that stops you combining them.

Highest Rated (3 agree) 10/10

Excellent work put in to voice acting, story, and map design (besides the low FPS supposedly due to shadows), and the best part - No jump scares!
