What is the HL: PARANOIA?
Paranoia - it is a our single-player modification for Half-life. You will play the role of a russian officer of the secret service. Your first impressions are that this mission will be just like any other, but you really have no idea what nightmares future events have in store for you...
Features:
- The unique game universe with the interesting characters and own story line.
- Levels based on the references taken from the real russian architecture and enviroment.
- New visual effects (bump mapping, gloss, detail textures, 3D sky etc).
- Improved AI of the enemy and friendly NPC.
- Improved aiming system (Iron Sight)
- Music from the famous Russian rock band named "SLOT" and our own tracks in "dark ambient" style.
- Subtitles system in russian and english languages.

The HOT QUESTION about SAFE PLAY: I've heard that playing your mod is a big risk for my STEAM account. The playing PARANOIA online can make my STEAM account banned by VAC. Is that true?
Answer: The anticheating services WILL NOT BAN YOUR ACCOUNT IF YOU PLAYING OUR MOD ONLINE. The VAC will detect opengl32.dll as a cheat in case if you will try to play another HL1 mod (CS1.6 for example) online on the server with VAC protection. We have NO PRECEDENT that some account was banned, because VAC just prevent you from playing on the server with anticheating protection. If you want to play online with other HL1 mods, just delete opengl32.dll file (or replace it to other detectory), but don't forget to put it back when you want to play PARANOIA. Without opengl32.dll in the Half-Life folder, the new graphic effects in PARANOIA will not be available.

It's been five years since Paranoia has been released! I just can't believe it, the time flies so fast! I want to thank everyone for all your support through all these years!
You might be wondering, is there a sequel, or another project in development? Unfortunately we are not planning any sequel for Paranoia, but right now we are working on a small multiplayer project. You can find some info about it right here.
Today I have something special for those, who asked me to show some old footage from the early development stage. I quickly put together some ancient videos. Have fun! :)

I need help. When i hit launch, it says failed to lunch item and the file is unvalid.
I cannot download any mod from modb..WHAT HAPPEN??
The mod was really, really good. I enjoyed everything on itm especially the atmosphere

you're russian and you don't understand wht they're saying?! i mean, i'm swedish and idk any russian but i know the language when i hear it! And why is it so bad with english subs? all you stupid ignorant commie ruskies need to learn to speak fucknig english!!

Excellent mod, by far one of the best Half-Life mods out there. It was scary, epic, and all around fun to play. I really do wish it was longer because it was rather short, but ovrall great mod. I really hope to see a remake in the future maybe.
Great mod, but it needs a ton of fixing:
1)The music is WAY too loud, especially for me, I couldn't barely hear a single thing besides the music,still... I liked the metal rock, its nice to hear some rock with all this pop music these days
2)Looting the bodies is a little bit of a pain, the bodies would dissapear and I wouldn't get the chance to loot them
3)Some minor .exe problems but mostly the problems is the overvolumed music
Keep up the good work and I give this mod an 8 for detail in a Half Life mod
The first time i played this mod was when i was on vacation a few years back, and that was when i still used my old HP Mini 110. I had a very nice vacation house, or beach house i forget lol. I just remember playing the mod while it was raining outside with the beautiful sky shining down at me, i was seriously in love with this mod. The sky was gray, so it fit the atmosphere of the Game. To this day i still love this mod, i can't believe it was released in 2007, i thought it was out in 2009 lol! Anyways, i felt that i had to share this. And i hope there will be another Paranoia in the future. Thanks guys for bringing in awesome experience to Half-Life! :'D

1. Buy "half-life 1" for steam
2. Download paranoia mod
3. Install paranoia mod
4. Restart steam
5. Launch mod from steam
6. Profit !
