Paradise Lost (commonly abbreviated PL; also known as Paradise Lost modification, and Paradise Lost mod; full name: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl - Paradise Lost modification) - a modification for the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, developing since 2007, based on the recovery of content that is not ranked to the final game.

The main purpose of Paradise Lost modification is to approach the game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl" for such a model, which is shown by the developers GSC Game World for the age since 2002 to 2005 years - that is a kind of returning of all the interesting things that were lost in the release, but remains on the old screenshots, trailers, "the finalcounts", articles in many gaming magazines - everything that can now be seen in the assemblies of the process of the game development (builds), which, fortunately, are available for download. So the purpose of this modification is to embody all the best from the builds in the final version of the game: visual style, graphics and its unique features (DX8 and DX9), behavior of NPCs, some plot points, and so much more...

Today, all English-speaking fans of Paradise Lost Mod - a holiday!
We are pleased to finally present to you the english version of the modification.

I would like to make a small digression: if on the eve of 5 years of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl, Ruwar (assistant in the development of modification) is not offered in the original theme of mod the Russian-speaking forum to create a page Paradise Lost on Moddb, then perhaps you would not soon, if ever learned about mod, and did not get in the end the English version of the mod.

Now, regarding the content of the modification. She got used some changes. Mod is a version 4.3.1 Beta, consisting of version 4.00 (January 2, 2012), and set on top of Update 3.1 (27 December 2012).
Here are just some of the innovations Update 3.1:

Was adapted sleep through inventory from "R.M.A. Shadows Addon 0.6" (now it's just a vacation) and a reset button to equip active slots (weapons and overalls).

Grass (or "details") on the locations from single-player game replaced by options from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. build different versions, and increased density of grass.

Paradise Lost mod beta - Trailer 4 - Mod DB

And now I would like to talk about plans for the further development of Paradise Lost Mod.
They are all the same: the restoration of content that is not ranked in the final game.
Until recently was being developed in terms of the reconstruction of the old locations and monsters, and continuously work on improving and fine-tuning the current graphics modifications to the kind we saw in 2002-2005.

However, in its last report Scavenger (main developer of mod) states that: "In recent times with work and personal life, time and effort to develop modifications are sorely lacking. But do not expect the news to the name - Paradise Lost is adjourned. On the other hand, news about what is global while also not expected".

We hasten to reassure you, mod is not frozen! Forces assistants developer, we will soon release a new Update with new innovations and corrections. But as said, Scavenger, can not wait for something global.

There is no way to fix it quickly, yet left as is, but then, maybe, I'll do the cover - Disabled shelter for NPC. It's ugly, but no departures ...

I don´t know, how to fix it or to bypass it. Any suggestions, please?!

As soon as the blowout ends, normal save or quick save, after that load or wait for crash.. worked all the time for me.

Also, the bloom is a bit overdone, as another posted noted. The sky seems to glow white, no clouds.

There is a flashlight which you can buy or find. I found mine on a bandit at the car park. I agree with the bloom, and also the motion blur is a bit too much. I noticed every day at about 15:00-17:00 it gets very very dark(with default game settings)

I eventually found one on a bandit at the car park, and binoculars later on. Would be nice if there were more to choose from, since they have a dedicated slot. Perhaps a brighter, longer range model.

Never mind about the motion blur, did not see there is a slider for it in the options :)
Yes I just copied some ltx from CS(alife,actor,m_stalker,light_night), changed them and put them in gamedata, ill see if it works
