Paradise Lost (commonly abbreviated PL; also known as Paradise Lost modification, and Paradise Lost mod; full name: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl - Paradise Lost modification) - a modification for the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, developing since 2007, based on the recovery of content that is not ranked to the final game.

The main purpose of Paradise Lost modification is to approach the game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl" for such a model, which is shown by the developers GSC Game World for the age since 2002 to 2005 years - that is a kind of returning of all the interesting things that were lost in the release, but remains on the old screenshots, trailers, "the finalcounts", articles in many gaming magazines - everything that can now be seen in the assemblies of the process of the game development (builds), which, fortunately, are available for download. We are pleased to finally present to you the english version of the modification.

I would like to make a small digression: if on the eve of 5 years of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl, Ruwar (assistant in the development of modification) is not offered in the original theme of mod the Russian-speaking forum to create a page Paradise Lost on Moddb, then perhaps you would not soon, if ever learned about mod, and did not get in the end the English version of the mod.

Now, regarding the content of the modification. She got used some changes. Mod is a version 4.3.1 Beta, consisting of version 4.00 (January 2, 2012), and set on top of Update 3.1 (27 December 2012).

Paradise Lost mod beta - Trailer 4 - Mod DB

And now I would like to talk about plans for the further development of Paradise Lost Mod.
They are all the same: the restoration of content that is not ranked in the final game.
Until recently was being developed in terms of the reconstruction of the old locations and monsters, and continuously work on improving and fine-tuning the current graphics modifications to the kind we saw in 2002-2005.

First I'd like to say thank you so much for this mod. I feel like I'm playing shoc like it was supposed to be played. This mod is simply amazing. I noticed a few things and had a few suggestions for what you can add to the next patch. The toz34 and bm16-long both have weird and messed up iron-sights. I fixed this for my own install and I'm willing to give them to you if you'd like. I am also wondering if you are aware of other russian modders adding things back into shoc like weapon sway and the old circle crosshair. For example: Youtube.com
(there are more videos on his channel)This is definitely something that would be absolutely perfect for Paradise Lost. Anyway, just some suggestions. I hope you continue development and I look forward to the next patch!

RMA mod has the circle crosshair for guns. And I love that gun bobbing effect from the old betas, it makes your character movement feel so natural. I don't know why GSC ever got rid of that, it needs to be restored.

What I want to know is how to enable the circular crosshair myself. I know it has to do with patching the xrGame.dll but I can't find any information on how to do it. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about all these Russian mods having the circle crosshair until now. They've been around a while which means that enough people know how to do it.

So what do the PL folks have planned for the future? I know adding cut levels is a very long and tedious process, possibly not even worth doing, but personally I'd like to see a mod that recombines levels that were split up in the retail release. You know, make Aroprom and AG underground one level again, same with Yantar and its dungeon, and make Wild Territory and the Bar one level again.

I forgot to mention that in my first playthrough of PL I had problems with Kruglov in the wild territory moving from his spot. He would just stay there even after starting the quest to lead him to Yantar.

Did any of the devs had this bug so that they can fix in future versions?

..afther tweaking the bloom settings the mod looks realy good, but is there a way to change the ugly wpn textures ?

Is it me or is this mod really hard? I'm stuck trying to get to Mole in Agroprom which is normally a breeze but in this mod the army guys are a lot better shooters and do a lot more damage.
