PainKeep Arena is primarily focused on DeathMatch style of playing, Team DeathMatch and CTF styles of play are fully supported and offer variant play for some PainKeep Arena weapons.

PainKeep Arena is awesome to play online! We at Team Evolve believe that PainKeep Arena is what DeathMatch should be - Fast, Brutal, and Fun with an incredible assortment of bizarre and lethal weapons.

" HOLY COW! You guys did it! I have to admit in the beginning I didn't think you could match the pure death match fun you captured in the original PKA but you've done it!!! And with style! Congrats on the release and THANK YOU for one K1CK A$$ game! " - Gideon, long time PKA player

PainKeep Arena is a Quake III Arena modification with a fanatical fan base and scores of maps and lots of tortuous weapons and traps. Would you like to make a map filled to the brim with pain and despair? Now you can! We have also released the source materials for the Level Designers to create their own masterpiece Painkeep maps!. The source materials will enable Level Designers to develop PainKeep Arena maps using a custom entity file as well as map source from a production map. The Painkeep Arena Map Resources can be downloaded here.

I played the original one for quake1 when it first came out and I still love it and think it has the most inventive weapons! I can't handle the PKA download with my crap-a-riffic dial-up, but I think more mods need to include bodily functions.

I have been playing painkeep since day 1, and it has been my net life 99% of the time. The mod is extremely professionally done, the weapons and inventory items feel real as if made by the original id team, the physics are carefully balanced, the maps are awsome and scream action, there are even bots customized for this mod, and the fun factor is unequaled with those painful, whine inducing beartraps and the hilarious can-o-beans. But what really has made me stayed for so long is the community, a bunch of friendly, fun to be with, hardcore painkeepers. Our forum is very active too and because of all these interactions, I consider them all real friends, I have fragged with some since the late 90's, tha's how close this community is, It just grabs you and won't let go, hope to see you fragging with us too.

Thanks TE for such a great mod, we probably don't say that enough but you know we all very grateful.

Yep, in Painkeep Arena, the more you eat, the more you TOOT! Beans give you 100% health with no countdown on health past 100, but the side effect is audible gas which can give away your location. Campers dread the moment after they eat a can of Painkeep Arena beans!

This mod is the best reason to own Quake3. I have been playing Painkeep for a bit now and I really dig the extra "toys" that are included in the mod. The PKA community is also quite friendly.

Download this mod now!!

Well I played and loved the original PainKeep for Quake, but I'd have to reinstall Q3 for this :)
Looks swell though :D

Is it the one with the can of beans that makes you fart and go flying forward?
