This OTS Aiming Mod is a little and simple prototype for implementing the Over The Shoulder aiming typical of the modern TPS shooters in Max Payne 2.
Sadly due to heavy engine limitations, MP2 is from 2003, the only way to create this kind of aiming mode was to restrict the player to only two custom weapons specifically created for this purpose, and this means also that it's incompatible with other mods, every resource avaiable revolves around the ots aiming system so a dedicated mod is needed, we will have to deal with it. Same for possible bugs, this is the final version, on my pc there are no bugs but since the engine isn't extremely reliable and the ots system is complex some unwanted behaviour could happen on some pc, I can't do nothing about that, live with it.

It's certainly difficult to have this sort of gameplay style without any sort of cover system. It really suffers from the same problem Blood Money had. Is it by any chance possible to have Max slow his moving speed while aiming? That would probably fix the issues for the most part.

I think I have just found a good animation for the enemy bullet hit that The_Silver might use or copy somehow. It is good for the torso shot, the leg shot, and the arm shot. Since the head shot automatically kills the enemy I think there is no longer a need for a head shot animation. Watch it from 1:53 to 2:00. Here is the link.

I'd love to see some smoky bullet trails like in Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel. Hopefully, you could change the enemy skins into some sort of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare military skins, or you could change the enemy skins into gangster skins.

Hockey masks might be a good idea.
Maybe a hockey mask for the main character, too.

It would be a great idea if the grenades tore the enemies into limbless bodies like in Call of Duty: World at War and leave a smoky cloud, too. It would also be a good idea if the grenades don't create bright explosions. The grenades should just explode into smoke and debris like in the Call of Duty series.

It would be great if you could change Max Payne 2's crappy enemy animation. It would be great to see some sort of hit animation for the enemies just like the animation in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It would be AWESOME to see Max having a hit animation like in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and/or shouting "OW!" like in Max Payne 3, too.
