We thank everyone for there support for the 'ORION: Source Multiplayer Beta' product. We had an absolute pleasure playing the game with you guys.
We are proud to have been able to develop and release this for free. We have learned a lot and we are dubbing this the 'Social Experiment'. We have obtained a wealth of community feedback regarding the Source Beta and have applied it to our new endeavor, 'ORION: Prelude' - our companies first endeavor.
The Source Multiplayer Beta was shut down on July 1st, 2010. We are currently focused on the brand new independent title.

And opens up! We are pleased to announce that ORION: Source Beta is officially Open-Source! We have been talking about this behind doors for a little bit now and it is finally time. We are extremely humbled to how far we have come and without Valve, Source, the Source SDK and the release of the ORION: Source Multiplayer Beta - it wouldn't have been possible.
We would like to give back to the Source Modding Community. You may have noticed our Firearm's acquisition April Fools joke where they featured some of our old dinosaur content in the media - well now you can do the same.

ABOUT THE SOURCE CODE:
Sadly, we need to make a few disclaimers. First and most importantly - the Source Code. I unfortunately had a hard drive crap out in late 2009. This means that the Source Code included is the source code from roughly 5-6 months before the first public release. So much of it is dated and will probably appear broken, however, after much discussion we figured that someone out there may find some use from it - so we included it anyways.
GENERAL DISCLAIMER:
There is of course bound to be a few glitches here and there. There also may be some missing content. If we stumble upon any additional assets or materials or source code elements, we will make an update and release it. Let us know any problems you may encounter.
This is a (for the most part) un-organized collection of the files. You talented folk will be responsible for decompiling and reconstruction of the files. This is simply our permission to use it in your mods and products - those of which have no financial gain.

One of the most horrible and painful experiences of my life, a reskin that plays WORSE than the game its reskinning. Orion had potential during its stages as Incoming and Incoming: Source, but Praz decided to scrap all the good and potential progress in exchange for a crappy reskin. This mod died within its first day, and im not talking about its initial unplayable release, this mod well and truly sucks... And dont get me started on the stuck up deluded cunt who owns the company behind this piece…

Wait....what exactly is happening?
Hey why aren't there any servers?
The most important at this point is not finishing your game, it is to regain your reputation with the community. You might have a handful of loyal troops in your forum where you can dictate, but the industry is tight and words spread fast. And right now it doesn't look good for you and your game.
ditto
Agreed
What the hell is going on?

We will no longer be updating on these platforms and if you are interested in any Spiral Game Studios news - please refer to the company website (http://www.spiralgamestudios.com) or the Spiral Community (http://www.spiralforums.com).
Official statement for this was posted at:

Taking down those community portals became a very simple decision. We are not removing all forums or mediums for discussion. If you want to discuss Spiral Game Studios related stuff or ask us questions directly on any manners, we have put together these mediums to do so.
Previous to this, we were pretty huge on not only updating the community through media updates but also posting on a variety of forums (sometimes 20+). We checked those multiple times a day to to interact and answer any questions.
People are claiming some ridiculous things making this a much bigger issue than it is. This quote sums it up best:
“I don't think I would shoot my self in the foot by removing any one that was either working hard, meeting deadlines or contributing towards the game in a positive way.
Let's use our heads, people.”
In short, spending all of that time interacting outside this forum would literally take up days. We can no longer afford to do that especially given the current circumstances. I haven't had time to devote myself to the actual game development these last few days and that is what is most important.
In other words you want to be able to monitor what people are saying. Yeah its quite clear how corrupt you aren't >.>
Yeah. All that spam and trolling deserved or not is bad for the project. In fact, the deletion of the page shows he still cares.
what is going on? can you fill me in?
