Redux Weapons HEV Hands
Nov 19, 2006 Weapons Model 3 commentsOpposing Force Redux weapons put on HEV hands
Opposing Force Redux is a enhancement package for Opposing Force. It is designed to work with the new Steam Client provided by Valve. Opposing Force Redux enhances your Opposing Force installation beyond what was thought to be possible with the High Definition pack that shipped with Blue Shift.
Redux is a community project. It is non-profit and contains work from members of many communities. Such communities are Half Life Improvement Team, which provide invaluable support and a great source of custom Half Life content. However most of the work is done by our Team.
Redux is a complete visual and audio overhaul for Opposing Force. Containing new models, sounds, sprites and some map enhancements to immerse you into a new level of game play. Even the smallest of details have been reworked to give your now fancy ass gaming computer something to chew on. This is not a Source project/port.
Currently in development, we have replaced near over 550 sounds, and 50 models and showing progress towards more. Redux takes advantage of every feature in the Half Life engine. From transparencies, chrome effects and additive textures used in ways thought to be outdated. Along with crisp new sound effects, high quality models which polygon counts are hardly never below 1,000 keep the always proud Opposing Force looking its best.

If you are a WON user and trying to use Opposing Force Redux, you may run into some sound problems.
Redux uses 16 bit sounds for the most part and they are not supported by the WON version of Half-Life. We only support Steam installations of Half-Life for Redux, but you are not lost.
A forum member, Dornanu, has found a fix for all you lucky people. To read his findings, head to the forums under General Discussion or go to the Files section of the site to a link to his tutorial to how get the sounds working.
If WON users are running into other problems, this tutorial might fix more than sounds but thats what it has been tested for thus far.

Opposing Force essentialy IS Half-Life. OP4 is no different from any mod here (pretty much), except that it was officialy released by gearbox, or some company like that.
This is for opposing force NOT HALF LIFE
Ok, i just put the stuff into the HL1 folder but in the PowerUp chapter, it locks up in the room after the spot where the 2 alien slaves blow themselves up with a stack of barrels. From there, as soon as i go into the room with the green slime in the bottom, boom, its like 1 frame per 10 seconds.
If you figured out how to fix this, PLEASE TELL ME!!! Thanks
Yep, check out some new V1.1 ingame pics that I just put in the gallery!
this mod is cool i made it work for half life one!!!!!!!! ammasing a?, soon al get it to work with blue shift
Just one thing I'm confused about? Why do the alien slaves, alien grunts, and gonomes speak english?
who cares?
And if it really pisses you off, just delete the sounds folder.
BTW, how do you uninstall?
The alins look nice, always some alien weapons. I dont like new skins of grunts and assasins, but scienstists are always nice.
can you install this so that you can have the skins for HL1 or Blue Shift?
Or Sven Coop?
I really love these skins
The readme is in the RAR guys, it tells you what you must do. It's a doc file. You need WinRar to open the archive redux is stored in then you must go to:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\youremail@here.com\opposing force\gearbox
extract to there.
