Opposing Force Redux is a enhancement package for Opposing Force. It is designed to work with the new Steam Client provided by Valve. Opposing Force Redux enhances your Opposing Force installation beyond what was thought to be possible with the High Definition pack that shipped with Blue Shift.

Redux is a community project. It is non-profit and contains work from members of many communities. Such communities are Half Life Improvement Team, which provide invaluable support and a great source of custom Half Life content. However most of the work is done by our Team.

Redux is a complete visual and audio overhaul for Opposing Force. Containing new models, sounds, sprites and some map enhancements to immerse you into a new level of game play. Even the smallest of details have been reworked to give your now fancy ass gaming computer something to chew on. This is not a Source project/port.

Currently in development, we have replaced near over 550 sounds, and 50 models and showing progress towards more. Redux takes advantage of every feature in the Half Life engine. From transparencies, chrome effects and additive textures used in ways thought to be outdated. Along with crisp new sound effects, high quality models which polygon counts are hardly never below 1,000 keep the always proud Opposing Force looking its best.

Greetings fans,

We have officially given ourself a name after much debate, Napalm Editon. We are also updating the website with new images and hope to have a new batch of media on the way ASAP! Please see our website for more information and details. With the summer coming up, we hope to get more done and have more to show. If you are a mapper, you should really talk to us, we could use your help. I think ours is going bonkers and could use some assistance before he maps the entire game from scratch. Now that will make an impressive Resume.

Cheers!

Please remember this addon is meant for Opposing Force only. There is no support for regular Half-Life.

oh and btw

i got th textures working perfectly sound textures everything worked perfect in both versions of the games

just getting the shits with the half-life crashes

i think you need to sort the files out so that half-life has its files in a zip and opposing force has its files in a zip

it would be much easier for us to sort out and i wouldnt be getting these damnc rashes

the opposing force version runs great though needs a gman HD model

but the original haalf-life seems to crash in a couple of places.

so i decided to install my old quake 3 engine version you know the classical original of the original game.

so i installed the high definition pack off of my blue shift disk and then put all the files into the Hd pak file

it ran like a dream but it crashed in a couple of places.

the only way to get past the crash was to remove the pak file then start the game get past the area then put the pak file back in.

the steam version does the same so it must be a texture issue.

i could try with my original version to put the textures into the half-life pak0.pak file.

the opposing force version works perfectly and i specifically love the shotgun its awesome.

the black ops are a blast i was reloading the area over and over just to see the black ops in action.

anyways if someone is willing to help me out with the half-life crashes this is causing i'd much appreciate it.

if someone could sort the files out and put theright ones into a pak file it would be even better

then i can just extract the pak file and put it straight into my steam version.

sorry if im confusing but i cant type it any better.

There's an error for impulse 101, whenever i use it it crashes and gives me this as a "Fatal Error":
SV_StartSound: volume = 326. I figured out what caused it, the PCV suit when you get it.

Pistol- Shell ejection is off. It comes out of the center of the screen when the shell ejection port is of to the right

Sniper Rifle- When firing the gun goes through the camera

M4- when you look all the way up or down you can see through the gun

Shotgun- When you hold down the fire button you don't hear the cocking sound

Rocket Launcher- The reload animation needs a little work

Spore- The left hand fingers are bent back

Plus the Idle animations continue to repeat when they should just do it once stop for a few minutes and do it again.

Other then that the mod looks great. The weapons are awesome. I love the new Displacer

I've posted it a million times, on Mod Db, HIT Forums and the website and the download section I believe and the bug wasn't found until after the release, so relax.
