The game takes place in the eve of the Seven Hour War. Fighting against blood shedding synths and frightening aliens, Adrian Shephard has to struggle his way with his fellow comrades from the Phoenix Command, with the main objective of stopping the construction of a Combine Citadel. In his journey he will find what has happened to the world, moments before the Seven Hour War.

That particular barrel guard for the M16 really is that blocky. A friend of mine had one. Arnold uses the same one in Predator.
it's made for the weapon not to overheat, so theres nothing ''dumb'' about it, you complain about the gun design when your gun overheats while being swarmed by combine And Or zombies
I never said it was dumb, just a little too blocky as far as I know. I've only seen round M4s before.

Not M4. M16. there's a difference. And that peice on the foreguard is called a heatsink. And that particular heatsink is designed for mounting M203's on.

Awesome as always, like what you did with the gas chamber. Only thing I don't like is how the barrel is also camo.
i reckon it's gonna be more accurate than the original HL2 submachine gun... right? some mods have it replaced by some sort of M4 carbine that works exactly the same way as the SMG :P but i would not accuse you of even an intention of doing such horrible things :)
The M4 model came with the High Definition pack that came with Blue Shift, at least for me. It was just there to give the weapon a more accurate look. Which it did. You can't really mount an M203 on the bottom of an SMG.
You still get to use the MP5.
The AR2 was still under development on the OF2 timeline, so you don't get to use an actual AR2, but an AR2 prototype, which is really different from what you see in HL2.
So gameplay-wise we needed something to replace what would be the HL2 AR2. That's why we put the M16 there.

Wrong, an MP5 with an M203 is actually a possible combo, used by the Malaysian military.
So it was pretty accurate to begin with.

As far as I know it's not possible to attach a M203 on a MP5 SD, which was the HL1 MP5.
Nah, the world model early in development was an MP5SD, when retail hit it was a normal MP5. I do agree that the first person view of the MP5 sure looks a lot like an SD variant though.
I knew it was possible to mount a 203 on an MP5. I should have said its impractical, not that one "can't" do it. I apologize. I just think the 203 would make the gun too front-heavy. I also think the M4 model that replaced the MP5 in Half-Life was a generally better model. The M4/203 combo is also becoming that "I know it will be in there" gun for modern shooters.

Yeah, the foreguard/handguard on the rifle is a bit too bulky, but it is a WIP so shouldn't sweat it. Other than that the rifle looks to proportion and in turn is lookin' good. :)

I need to ask something. this has botherd me in all of the half life games. The grnades in the grnade lancher "magicly" apear in the lancher without the player messing with it. Can u fix this
Well, good overall, texture kinda ******. Model is good, doesn't look blocky, just seems that way since the texture hinders it. I think the model itself is very nice. Maybe add some more detail. Nice render shot man.

This kind of depresses me as the original game has MP-5 SD6 SMGs.
I hate what the HD Pack did, I like Glocks more than Berreta's and MP5s more than M4s.
THERE WILL STILL BE AN MP5. AND A GLOCK, FOR THAT MATTER. YAY, CAPS.
