It is October 7th, 1963. A daring move is conducted by STAVKA, the Soviet High Command. Coined 'Operation Red Dawn', it is part of a massive war plan to assault the Western Powers and win the Cold War. The mod is from a Soviet perspective, specifically two separate men: 1. Staff Sergeant Ivan Chernokovsky, Spetsnaz Operative. 2. Pvt. (later Major) Fyodor Koben, Russian Army Soldier.
Another test mission. Not entirely done, no ending triggers for the battle, but a properly scripted intro. Place in your Users/(Username)/missions folder, then launch from the Editor. Use the Malden map!
Just a hasty example of a mission in progress. Early alpha of the mission, just barely scripted by our designers. Here's where this mission fits in:
March 9th, 1964. A few months after the USSR assaulted the West and World War III began, the USSR has capitulated Canada and has conquered much of Washington state and Maine. The southern border of Maine is hotly contested between the Soviet 8th Army and the American 7th and 12th Armies. As the newly-promoted Corporal Fyodor Koben, a small town in the countryside atop a hill, dubbed "Hill 27" by the Soviets, is mainly a relay outpost to the main armies battling on the border. A small Soviet mechanized regiment is slowly mobilizing here, but only a handful of tanks, armoured vehicles, and soldiers have arrived. It's looking to be another monotonous day. However, when an American mechanized regiment lays all-out siege to the town, a dreary day becomes a hellish fight for survival for the heavily-outnumbered Soviets against the seemingly endless waves of US infantry. Can you survive the hordes, or will you be overrun?
This mission is mainly meant to test triggers. Of course, this is a mission which will be in the final mod, but this is a bare-bones version of it.
