Multiplayer Beta Release Q1 2014 Cancelled

Our plan to bring you the multiplayer beta of Operation Black Mesa early this year didn't work out, regrettably. Several factors and circumstances forced us to completely keep it under the hood until further notice.

Multiplayer Progress

Multiplayer will feature classic maps such as Yard, Crossfire and Boot Camp as well as brand-new ones like Deptcharge and Gambit from day 1.
Currently in development: CTF mode and weapon placement.

Depthcharge

Singleplayer Campaign

Development is running smoothly; those NPCs aren't going to animate themselves though! If you're interested in joining our team, check out the jobs page where you can find all positions currently open. We look forward to welcoming you on board!

Pit Worm's Nest

Remember Guard Duty (Blue Shift: Source)? We're making solid progress here too:

Living Quarters Outbound

OBM: The Video Game?

We've been given the option of developing our projects as full indie titles to be sold on Steam!
This opens up a whole lot of attractive possibilities to consider; however no decision has been reached yet as to this matter.

Thanks for your support in making all of this possible!

Until next time,

where did you here this? and why would they change it? They really don't need to change the vort model (as I stated earlier).

They technically don't have to, but that would be laaaaaame. Especially since this is a complete remake. Also, here's the Vort: http://www.obmsource.com/media/models/characters/pic4.jpg

that is not the vort model that is the shocktrooper, a different alien. And how would it be lame to not change it? yes I know this is a recreation but it's still a half-life game non the less (just updated with the awsomeness of the source engine). It would be lame to make unneeded changes to the vort model. The only change they would need is to just add on the slave bracletts and coller.

Look, lets get this straight, all of their content is going to be made by them. They aren't going to use any of Valve's content. Its all going to be recreated and rethought to their liking. If you think they'd use the the HL2 Vort because it would make it easier, then you're preaching to the wrong crowd. They have more than enough manpower to recreate all of the original entities in HL.

Also its lame because its not created by them. Their goal isn't to just take from Valve and use it, its to recreate it and make it better than it was originally.

they don't need to replace the vortigaunt model, the hl2 vort model is basicly the half-life 1 vortigaunt just with higher quality. So saying that they need to make a new model when they already have a good one to work with is pretty stupid, no nicer way to say it.

It's not that easy to replace the Vortigaunt slave model, as it all ready has many of the needed animations and they would have import them to a new model or do it from scratch.

Let me make this clear:

This is a total conversion, meaning that no content is going to come from other games. Any asset that hasn't already been replaced is a placeholder.

The team simply wanted some video content on it's moddb site and just made a video featuring some extremely early alpha content! See it as "Teaser_01"!

Rest assure, since that teaser was realesed, the mod has made some awesome progress! :)
