Operation Black Mesa is a total Source conversion of Half Life: Opposing Force.
Half-life: Opposing Force is still an amazing game, although its not nearly as amazing as it was when it was released. Using the Source engine, the developpers plan to recreate the Black Mesa research Facility as it was seen by Corporal Adrian Shepard of the H.E.C.U.
VALVe Software originally had plans to port Half-life: Opposing force into the source engine (announced at E3 2004) much like they did Half Life: Source, but after seeing the results of Half life: Source the Operation Black Mesa devteam decided that it wouldn't be worth the wait, and thus took the task into our own hands.
A list of features planned for the final release:
» Complete re-creation of all 12 chapters from the original.
» Models that push the limits of the Source Engine.
» Multiplayer, including Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch with all the original levels fleshed out.
» New voices, sounds, and visuals to truly immerse you in the Black Mesa incident.
» Level Design tweaks to utilize the advanced physics engine introduced in Half Life 2.
» A remixed soundtrack including enhanced music from the original along with all new ones.
» Extended Single Player experience, with new areas and new monsters filling in gaps left in the original.
» Immersive scenes that make you really feel for the employees of the Facility.
» CTF may be included, But not in early releases.

I'm here to complain again (just kidding)...
Mine is just a suggestion: next time you release some images of a model, could you please not surround the model with the green shadow?
It surely makes your release more distinctive, but also makes harder to appreciate your work!
Your great logo is distinctive enough, and a little brighter background (a background that fades from black on top to dark gray on bottom) would imho enhance the model...
Just my 2 cents, keep up the good work!

Actually we'd be happier if more people asked questions like you do :) (even though posting them on our forum would be better still -> Operationblackmesa.vossey.net).
The reason why the green lining was put in on the HECU in the middle, was to make it stand out a bit more, but if the watchers think it looks weird we'll consider doing it differently in the next release :)
Hey DragonNOR, thanks for the appreciation!
Anyway I just expressed my opinion like any civil person would do...
And if my contribution improves a game I could be able to play for free, well, can I contribute more? ;D My pleasure, really!
By the way, I'm aware of your site... in one word, it looks *GERAT*, but I prefer to stick to ModDB: project sites tend not to work after a while (it happened to this project site too)... I also prefer ModDB because it's easier and faster to communicate, and imho forums are too time-consuming!
Now wrist computer sounds more reasonable to me and I'm looking forward for new updates that will improve its appereance (still too cartoonish now)... I'm also looking forward new releases: if I manage to save some time, I'll put together an example of what I suggest for images... I'll let you know later... I'm a bit busy right now!
Again, congratulations and keep up the good work! I'm really envious of your skills!

bugme_not:human heads seem... creepy
They are soldier heads. You expect them to smile while they are on the battlefield?
@Bugme_not: Personally I think the artwork is outstanding, but since I'm part of the team that'll be a biased opinion, so I'll ask like I've done before: What is bad about it? What do you personally think is horrible about it? Opinions without reason is like a book without contents.
Concept art is where you try to show how the subject should look before it's made into a model. Your concept art (mostly of humans) seems oddly unproportional and inconsistent from one picture to the next. The houndeye and shocktrooper models seem drab and undetailed. human heads seem... creepy. the eyes are too white, the stubble looks more like rough flesh and the pupils of Head Model B look slightly elongated and slit-like.
The models aren't exactly important. What id like to know is what parts of the original game is going to be changed/improved upon.
We have a thread on our forum for those questions :)
I'd rather not.
Why?
Well, without feedback, how can the mod improve? :D
Now I see what you meant with the Nightvision. Its a good idea, if its doable we'll include it :)
I see what you mean about the wrist computer, but I think that because its basically just displaying information that is processed somewhere else in the vest (Where-ever the designers chose to hide the electronic brain), its doable :)
The rugged look though is something we can chew on, good suggestion :D
