Multiplayer Beta Release Q1 2014 Cancelled

Our plan to bring you the multiplayer beta of Operation Black Mesa early this year didn't work out, regrettably. Several factors and circumstances forced us to completely keep it under the hood until further notice.

Multiplayer Progress

Multiplayer will feature classic maps such as Yard, Crossfire and Boot Camp as well as brand-new ones like Deptcharge and Gambit from day 1.
Currently in development: CTF mode and weapon placement.

Depthcharge

Singleplayer Campaign

Development is running smoothly; those NPCs aren't going to animate themselves though! If you're interested in joining our team, check out the jobs page where you can find all positions currently open. We look forward to welcoming you on board!

Pit Worm's Nest

Remember Guard Duty (Blue Shift: Source)? We're making solid progress here too:

Living Quarters Outbound

OBM: The Video Game?

We've been given the option of developing our projects as full indie titles to be sold on Steam!
This opens up a whole lot of attractive possibilities to consider; however no decision has been reached yet as to this matter.

Alien Controller

M1A1 Tank

Thanks for your support in making all of this possible!

Until next time,

I'm a bit colour blind, and reading text on this page is really difficult, thanks to the see-through-grey-on-black style you've got.

The brightness of the colors already contrasts quite a bit.
Also, your latest blog post looks like this: I.imgur.com

Doesn't seem like even you are catering to your own disabilities.

No, that background works quite well against the text, if you ask me. This is dark grey on transparent grey against dark green. It doesn't contrast at all.

Interesting.
The text on this page is actually light grey.
Are you sure your browser / monitor is displaying the page correctly?

Bloody hope so. You can not deny this same theme has been in use for a long time now. It'd be a good change to make, removing this.

You're welcome to send me a screenshot if you have identified a technical issue with this page.
However, until we have further confirmation, there is little reason to fix what ain't broke.

Why do we even take this guy's bait anymore? He's around solely to try and start issues, it seems. Been that way for over a year.

Hold on, what have I done? I was being dead serious with the colour blind thing. You're too sensitive; a debate about something isn't bait, it's a conversation.

Blimey.

I don't need to send anyone a screenshot, we're both on the same page. ...Not metaphorically, but still, the same URL.

I didn't say the CSS style was broke, either. Please allow yourself to visit the nearest Specsavers.

It's words of advice, whether I'm the only one with the brain power to type them, that this style design is both hurting MY eyes, and is not designed very well. You're being silly.

Indeed, in letting your blend of factual error and ill-founded personal opinion waste my time.
Since your efforts are directed at blowing up the comments section with wild accusations rather than towards resolving the supposed issue, this discussion is over.

I don't get how I was being wild, ill-founded {Perhaps you should look at definitions first} or how I wasting your time.

Sorry big man, but you're the one who's over-replying. It's not my responsibility to keep your comment section clean.

Considering your friends have now taken to karma spam on all of my profile, it's time to have the administration involved.

So yes, this conversation is now over, regarding the fact that it's not a decision you can make alone.

I don't understand: How can this be a colour-blindness issue when there's no colour? And if it is, then how can you expect other people to get it?

I never asked anyone to sympathize with me. Feel free to use your scroll wheel.

Perhaps your idea of colour blindness is a little off, bearing as what you just said is stupid as shite.

MichaelTannock Dec 17 2014, 4:53pm replied:

Being colour-blind means you can't differentiate certain colours, so again how is this an issue when the image is grey? And how does it apply to the people you're talking to?

Lon-nah Dec 17 2014, 5:41pm replied:

Why does it need to apply to the people I am talking to? And considering my comment didn't include any names and was not directed at anyone in particular, it's really strange for you to ask me why I comment what I did.

My eyesight isn't the best in many regards, and because I look too dashing to wear a pair of neek shades, I am forced to increase the zoom of the website to 300 per-cent, and I have even had to use the 'cover one eye' method, because of the blending colours. I get blind-spots when viewing large paragraphs of text on this page. It's not up for debate.

I'm ******* stunned at how stupid and childish all of you are. There's no underlying respect or mutale understanding here, it's despicable. Last time this kind of debate ended in one of their employees being removed from the website. OBM team need to wise-up.

I'm sad to of wasted my time voting for this MOD.

MichaelTannock Dec 17 2014, 6:18pm replied:

You went so far as to tell other people to go to Specsavers if they can't see the same thing you do, so clearly you think your problem applies to them as well, which is why I asked how?

As for the problem itself, I don't know what it is, but it's not colour-blindness, since no colours are involved by your own admission. Whether you choose to debate that or not, is irrelevant.

And who you vote for is your own business, but bringing it up here in this way, with references to team removals, is as childish as it gets.

Lon-nah Dec 17 2014, 6:57pm replied:

Was it not too far for Uphys to call me ill-founded, and tell me my opinion was not a good use of his reading time, or for Crypt to accuse me of purposefully causing an augment?

I wasn't expecting to be interrogated and a twenty-comment long reply chain, so, yeah, I didn't exactly explain my problems indepth, but why would I of? I don't want to make a 2 hundred character long comment with perfect detail to avoid having boring, stupid helemts argue with me about whether I'm right or not.

I've reread this thread ******* loads of times, and I unfortunately just keep coming up with holes in the people involveds' text. I think my intellect is perhaps out of bounds here.

I bet if I edited my original comment to 'lol, great, amazing MOD, love love luv it! but plz plz change background colour', I'd have a much more positive reaction. Don't you reckon?

MichaelTannock Dec 17 2014, 8:10pm replied:

To me it looks like you and Crypt have some kind of history, at least in comment chains. And since I don't know anything about that, I can't say whether his assessment or response are justified.

However Uphys just seems frustrated with being presented an issue he doesn't understand, and arriving at the same conclusion as Crypt because of it.

I don't know how you would go about resolving that one, except maybe by writing the detailed comment you say you shouldn't have had to.

But I don't think editing your original comment to include more praise would have done it.
