Operation Black Mesa is a total Source conversion of Half Life: Opposing Force. Half-life: Opposing Force is still an amazing game, although its not nearly as amazing as it was when it was released.

Well we here at the Operation Black Mesa mod team are all very happy to announce another update. Although there has also been some bad news in the development of this project which we would wish to announce as well.

-Shortly after our first media release we merged with a small team that had the same goal in mind, to remake opposing force called Operation Firesweep: Source and submited by FrereDarme. At the time this appeared to have been a smart move as what we saw of there’s was both nice and would have been helpful in development. This team was composed of three members, the first of which was kicked shortly after due to inactivity. Not too long after that there mapper proved to be incompetent and we were forced to kick him.

We have a short script in development to help enhance, yet of course not directly change, the story and development of key characters. With this our concept artists are working hard on concepts of this.

In regards to the game experience our level designers have reconsidered certain maps following different criticisms. The different maps remain in constant development, including the multiplayer aspect of the game.

We still remain in dire need of a programmer, luckily our own "MadGernader" has moved on to help develop a HUD with the assistance of "Seldoon182" which remain under development.

Currently our only remaining modeler "Zim" is hard at work on rebuilding a majority of weapon models with a realistic design.

All the media is top notch. I'm not too crazy about the the concept art for the Gonome, it dosen't look as intemidating as the original.
