One Light in the Darkness is a high-quality custom story for Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The player takes on the role of Silas Joel Farran, a struggling writer who stumbles upon a mysterious and unsettling note of farewell, authored by the researcher who went missing months ago, Dr. Dale H. Shaw. The note suggests Shaw had been studying the history of a supposedly abandoned castle once owned by Baron Liam Bloodgood at the time of his disappearance. Such an adventure through the castle and a search for clues to Shaw's disappearance make for a thrilling novel....but Farran gets more than he bargained for...

This is really well done, but even in the custom story format there are some bugs, even with the patches.
For instance, I tried backtracking to the main hall before jumping down the hole into the sewers (because the diary entry said I'd need medical supplies for the drop, obviously meaning laudanum but I couldn't find any). So I dropped down into the sewers and then I realize I'm carrying three lanterns for some reason.
Then there's the part with the Kaernk. What am I supposed to do? There's a machine with two out of three rods, and removing them results in the room gate closing, trapping me in the room with the monster. Then there's the room with the coal and boulder that says it would make a good blockade, but a blockade against what? The kaernk? There's already debris preventing it from following me. Also in the kaernk room there's a highlighted board that I cannot pick up.
Any ideas what could be causing this because this looks like a really well made custom story and the notes found made me really want to find out what is going on in this place.

How to get rid of it?
I was really excited to try this custom story out, but when I got to the East Wing, it was unplayable :( I was surprised due to the very high quality of the entry hall and the diaries/notes, but in the East Wing, there are pillars protruding from the walls, and the doorways are blocked by walls that look like they're not supposed to be there. Just wanted you to know so you can fix. Looking forward to playing it.
nvm i think i installed it wrong. trying out the full conversion format now.
