Somewhere along the Polynesian Island belt, a disaster will go unnoticed.
14:30, 21st September 1998, Grey Summit Facility (GSF), Onanha, Polynesian Island belt. An Investor's external inspection begins, and 28 years of research ends.
Official Denial is a one player, first person orientated MOD for Half-Life 2, which comes under the Survival Horror genre. The game takes place upon the island of Onanha, along the Polynesian Island belt; the location of the corporately owned 'Grey Summit Facility'. Environments include the vast maze of underground laboratories; dense, exotic jungle and the facility's dock area. Choose from three playable characters, who must escape the island and the facility's blood thirsty test subjects. Interact with other non-playable characters, where your decisions and actions dictate their fate, aid survivors in their escape, or sacrifice them for your own survival. Use a wide range of weapons and devices to defeat enemies, and overcome obstacles. Battle against ten different species of engineered killing machines and numerous non-classified test subjects. All the classic elements of Survival Horror game-play, underpinned by a deep, gripping storyline.
Isolated but not alone. The nightmare has already begun...
...but your escape is just beginning.
I know that this mod has not been updated in quite a while, apologies for this. There have just been so many other commitments that have taken priority, like university and trying to get my qualification. However I am determined not to let this mod die and will be starting work on it again, after I finish my university course (May 2008).
The basic story and proposed content of the mod will stay mainly unchanged, however we are going right back to the drawing board with maps, as Half Life 2: Episode 2 has really opened my eyes to what the source engine can achieve with some time and effort. I have scrapped the last couple of maps I have created, due to the poorness in quality. I believe I have learnt a lot more to do with modding, compared to the last time I tried to complete this mod, so it should be a better outcome this time round, fingers crossed.
