Minor Tweaks/Adjustments TBA:

  • Disabling the Construction Menu
  • Disabling Migrations and bringing back the focus on expanding your influence.
  • Belief system will use the existing impressiveness mechanic as a means of taking a town
  • Cutting back on the tribute system and make buildings obtainable through more silver scroll quests throughout the story.
  • Disable Platoon Buildings and the "War" system for a more direct approach with the influence ring.

NOTE: Watch this space as the release date looms closer, as I will be out of state for a week in early January and so this may cause delays in both release date and additional progress on OGaM. Cheers!

Hello followers,

Since it's return, I've dedicated myself to continue to work on and make OGaM as great as it can be. Since the re-announcement, there's been new systems added, removed and updates to older systems. The stability and completeness of the game grows closer with each update.

Thus, I am happy to announce, that I plan to release OGaM's alpha Soon.

What to expect in the alpha release:

This first alpha release will be just like the original OGaM releases and sorely used as a demonstration for all the new and current systems in the game, this is a chance for the community to give me feedback about your experience with these systems and to see if you are able to break the game. I invite everyone to do just this.

While playing this alpha, I encourage everyone to play with these systems and see for yourself the work that has been put in over the last few months and inherently, the previous 7 years. Below is what you can expect in this release:

And so, work continues until release, thankyou everyone for your continued support and feedback thus far, be sure to share your thoughts by registering over on Kayssplace.com and hitting up the OGaM thread. I hope to see you there!

And so I leave you with one final thing, the release date. It is not a 100% confirmed date, but I'm hoping to get the game cleaned up and ready by then. Cheers! ^_^

OGaM has moved into version 0.09 containing several bug fixes and additions to current systems.

The January release is kind of on track for the moment, I've had issues trying to get the influence ring mechanic to work properly and some parts of the belief system and scaffolding continue to be non-functioning.

I also wish to include a God War system in the future to allow my God AI to fight each other, another large undertaking but well worth it in the end towards that interactive, living world.

Good thing you guys decided to revive this mod, wondering if it will be that one mod that causes the game itself to be revived again. Then Lionhead could make another one, Hopefully Molyneux doesnt get involved since the abortion called godus.

With the introduction to these systems in OGaM, hopefully perfecting them could also be a step closer to full re-creating Black and White 1 in the future using these systems and the Black and White 2 engine.

Unofficially at the moment, I can say I've been watching the progress of outside tools and they could shape up to be one of the few things that caused the downfall in the vanilla games popularity.

Speaking unofficially of course like I said, so progress on those could cease at any time, if any.

Just a clarification too, "you guys", is just me, I'm really the only person working on this mod. which might account for lack of progress sometimes as I have to do pretty much all of it at the moment. ;]

Removed. The game is being designed with the influence ring in mind, so platoon buildings and the ability to aggressively take towns with units will be disabled.

This entire thing is being built with the vanilla game so only the elements of that game are included. This is the sole reason why the God AI is a thing rather than depending on BoTG's AI system.

Being the case, the turtle will not be available, but the "Tiger" assuming that's what you meant, from the Collector's Edition of BnW2, will be.

aww thats a shame, for me i loved the skirmish in B&W1;, but wished there was armies, while for B&W2; it was the reverse :(

I would like to include it right now, but it feels clunky with the style of story I want to go for.

There's a chance, it could return later down the road, once I get the God AI to a stage where using armies becomes more fun to use.
