Nuclear Cataclysm takes you into the year 2020, where the world is endangered by a new kind of weapon in North Korean hands. As part of the well-known Raptor-Team, your task is to find and eliminate the threat.

Nuclear Cataclysm is my singleplayer mod for crysis that started in mid-2010 as a small map. Over the years, I added more and more stuff, a detailed storyline and custom content.

Mod features

  • Detailed leveldesign with intense atmosphere
  • Thrilling storyline
  • 4 Maps with various settings
  • Custom content like new skins, sounds, weapons and objects
  • free, crysis-like gameplay as well es fast, action-packed gameplay featured

There is currently no fixed release date and I could only estimate how long I will need. But as I proved to be wrong with all my past estimates, I will say nothing until I know more! :b

PS: If you want, check out the Crysis-mod "Lost in Paradise" which is developed by RED and me! :)

Hi guys,

allthough the "few weeks" became more than a month, I finally have another update with great news for you!

Today I finished revising the 3rd map, which means that 3 of the 4 maps are now completely finished and wait to be played. I'm glad I can finally post this as there was a lot more to do than I had planned. Beneath major changes in gameplay, missions and leveldesign, I also added a couple of nice new features. But I don't want to tell too much yet, you will see them soon enough!

Anyways, I'm now working on the AI, mission logic and cutscenes of the last map. As I wrote in earlier updates, leveldesign and parts of AI, missions and cutscenes are already done, so it's not too much left. However, it's not sure that the release will be in September this year.

As promised, here are the new screenshots of the 3rd map:

I hope you like the news and the screenshots. Leave a comment if you want!

Greetings, maniac2109

Actually looks pretty damn cool....haven't really had much interest in Crysis but this mod might actually get me some more playing time out of it on my steam account.

Thanks LazyAmerican, I'm happy to hear that! I think Crysis doesn't need any mods to be a great game, but that's a matter of taste, of course... I hope you will find some interest in Crysis through NC!

Hey Fradao, thanks for the nice comment! :)
I actually thought about a small demo or even releasing some levels seperately earlier. But I decided not to do it because I want the player to play the mod in one piece to get the full storyline, atmosphere etc. at once. But to comfort you, about 90% of the mod is finished, I only have to build a very small part. I hope you can be a bit more patient! :)

Actually you're right, there are always the same enemies and stereotypes in the games these days. But the standart enemies in Crysis are the North Koreans, so they are the "easiest" enemies to create (models/assets, language files, etc). And well, when I started the mod, I never thought about that (or any other political coherence) because I just wanted to deliver an immersive, thrilling gameplay experience. But for future projects (If I will ever have some) I planned to do something more new, maybe something with western enemies.
