Nuclear Cataclysm takes you into the year 2020, where the world is endangered by a new kind of weapon in North Korean hands. As part of the well-known Raptor-Team, your task is to find and eliminate the threat.

Nuclear Cataclysm is my singleplayer mod for crysis that started in mid-2010 as a small map. Over the years, I added more and more stuff, a detailed storyline and custom content.

Mod features

  • Detailed leveldesign with intense atmosphere
  • Thrilling storyline
  • 4 Maps with various settings
  • Custom content like new skins, sounds, weapons and objects
  • free, crysis-like gameplay as well es fast, action-packed gameplay featured

There is currently no fixed release date and I could only estimate how long I will need. But as I proved to be wrong with all my past estimates, I will say nothing until I know more! :b

PS: If you want, check out the Crysis-mod "Lost in Paradise" which is developed by RED and me! :)

Hello everyone!

In the last weeks, I made some good progress revising the second map, and now it is also completely finished. Of course, there could be some minor gameplay changes necessary if the beta tests reveal some weakspots, but apart from that everything is finished!
Now I started working on the 3rd map, but unfortunately I noticed that there is a bit more to do than I hoped and I'm not sure if it's necessary to change some major gameplay aspects of that map.

So, again, I have to postpone the release date, what is becoming quite an issue I think.  I will still need several months, and I can't say how long. Maybe you already noticed that time planning is not my strong point...

But I have, however, other good news. With finishing the revision of the second map, I was able to consecutively play through the majority of the mod while recording my playtime. For the first two maps alone I needed about 90 Minutes (which is much more than I expected), and I estimate the same for the other two maps. So, depending on your playing style, NC should have a playtime of about 3 hours!

Here I have, as always, some new screenshots. These are from the second map and show some of the environment. There are probably scenes that are more interesting for screenshots though, but I want you to find them yourself when you play the mod! :)

That's everything for today's news post, I hope you like the news and screenshots. Of course, c&c are welcome as always!

Greetings, maniac2109

Actually looks pretty damn cool....haven't really had much interest in Crysis but this mod might actually get me some more playing time out of it on my steam account.

Thanks LazyAmerican, I'm happy to hear that! I think Crysis doesn't need any mods to be a great game, but that's a matter of taste, of course... I hope you will find some interest in Crysis through NC!

Hey Fradao, thanks for the nice comment! :)
I actually thought about a small demo or even releasing some levels seperately earlier. But I decided not to do it because I want the player to play the mod in one piece to get the full storyline, atmosphere etc. at once. But to comfort you, about 90% of the mod is finished, I only have to build a very small part. I hope you can be a bit more patient! :)
