Nuclear Dawn is a modification for Valve’s Source engine that combines visceral and violent First Person Shooter action with fast-paced Real Time Strategy in the aftermath of an apocalyptic war. You can choose the mission or lead the attack as a commander, marshalling resources and deploying weapons and equipment for your team to use.
You can storm a building as an assault trooper, cling to the shadows and rely on your active camouflage as a stealth, or unleash terrible firepower from a powered suit of exo-armor. You have the responsibility and the power to decide the outcome of every engagement. If your opponents are lucky there will be enough of them left to bury.
Although we have been around for a long time, this mod is still in active development, and the development team is breaking its collective back on getting this mod to you as soon as possible. Stay tuned !

We'd like to update you on some of the more recent news updates that didn't make it onto the ModDB profile yet. The profile gallery has been updated with the recently featured screenshots, and we're planning on adding some more of our concept art soon.
New Weapon and renders
In december, a new weapon was introduced: the Sticky Grenade. It is a remote-detonated explosive charge that sticks to walls, structures and players. You simply don't want this bugger anywhere near your vital body functions !
Another item that was featured was the Consortium stealth arms and the knife. A minor, but interesting, detail is that the watch design you see in the render was designed by our very own community. All showcased models were crafted and skinned by our very talented SquirrelyJones.
Work on the In-Game hud is coming along nicely too. Most of the in-game weapons and their ammo have been iconified by Forceflow.
ModDB MOTY 2007
We'd like to thank our supporters for all the votes that got us into Phase 2. Keep on voting, and don't forget to support your other favorites too. It's been a great year for Source modding.
Merry Christmas and a Happy 2008
We'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a great 2008. The team is working very hard to make next year a great one for the mod.

Nuclear Dawn, I will still wait patiently for you..
cough
are you guys gonna add vehicle to this game?
No vehicles, period. :)
I wouldn't like vehicles in a game like this. Whenever an FPS introduces vehicles, it always detracts from the infantry aspect of the gameplay. This game is looking fine the way it is.
Source engine does not support multiplayer vehicles very well...
The best multiplayer vehicle mod is DIPRIP imo, and you can see how bad the lag issues are even when the mod team optimized the existing code as best they could.
Eternal Silence would be a major exception, but their coder said space ship handling was much easier to predict than that of land vehicles.
THANK YOU! I fucking hate vehicles. One reason why I stopped playing Empires.
Very unlikely.
WOOHOO
im fucking excited about this mod!!!!!
anyway, i just want to say good luck, you guys are probably working your asses of right now. mucho respect.
No matter what anyone says, if there's no update soon I'll never believe this mod isn't dead (and I expect a massive update... well, at least something big).
