Nuclear Dawn is a modification for Valve’s Source engine that combines visceral and violent First Person Shooter action with fast-paced Real Time Strategy in the aftermath of an apocalyptic war. You can choose the mission or lead the attack as a commander, marshalling resources and deploying weapons and equipment for your team to use.
You can storm a building as an assault trooper, cling to the shadows and rely on your active camouflage as a stealth, or unleash terrible firepower from a powered suit of exo-armor. You have the responsibility and the power to decide the outcome of every engagement. If your opponents are lucky there will be enough of them left to bury.
Although we have been around for a long time, this mod is still in active development, and the development team is breaking its collective back on getting this mod to you as soon as possible. Stay tuned !

The reception of Nuclear Dawn went down extremely well, with 15,000 unique visitors and 500 beta signups in the *first hour* alone. The forum community is alive and kicking with a ton of activity from some pretty crazy people, so make sure you check them out.
This weekend we finished another alpha playtest that we'd had to put off due to the madness brought about by the site launch! During this alpha we had a few industry level designers partake, hopeful in the aim that we'd interest them into building a level within our alpha>beta development process. If any of you are curious on the gameplay factor of Nuclear Dawn, well everyone who took part in the alpha left with a big grin on their face.
I guess we're obligated to provide you all with some screenshots from the session, Well, here are some that I took, or rather the few ones I managed to take while not taking some severe punishment courtesy of the rest of the dev team. I’m beginning to think my fellow team members are holding a grudge against me.
It’s probably worth mentioning that the level seen here is something RobertB threw together in less than a week. Its sole purpose is to test another new map layout for a new game mode we've implemented to test the core features of the FPS gameplay.
We're still looking for an animator and another coder to join the ranks of the team to hasten the arrival of the projects beta stages so if you're interested email contact(at)nuclear-dawn.net

YES OR NO
Circle One
Hells this game looks great
wtf looks great
Hellfuckingo, what the hell is going on? No offense but this mod is LONG overdue despite any estimated release date...you model, you code, you test, you debug, you release...that simple, i FUCKING LOVE ND, however im really losing interest, as I've been with ND since the website opened up, like 3 and 1/2 MONTHS, THREE or so YEARS AGO before the website was up. You decide to make a mod you make a commitment, a promise to gamers for an engaging game that will suck them in, and these damn pix aren't cuttin' it. Source is losing it's flair due to the fact that it's most talked about mods aren't even being released. Insurgency, Nuclear Dawn, Caliber, Hostile Intent Phoenix Rising, TS:S, NS:S, FA2, FA:S, WAW, BM:S (don't actually belong in this list), Project Hull Breach, and a shit load of other mods i can't even remember because 1/2 them are dead, 1/8 of them are released and completely horrible, and 3/8 of them are you guys! People who need to do whatever it takes to release the fucking mod...a GOOD release, welcome to the hard cold community that is gamers, we're demanding, we're impatient (at least NOW we are), and we're fucking pissed and tired of waiting. What-ever-it-takes!
No, because the photoshopped HUD concept depicts what we are aiming for with the final release, so it's not misleading insofaras it shows what ND will be like. But I will admit that we could have made it clear that this was not the current HUD, and that that was overlooked. However, we do have all of the features shown in that HUD working in our current barebones HUD, which only differs visually. Turning what we have now into what you see in the magazine should not pose any major problem, and since it only impacts on the aesthetics of the game we feel no need to concentrate on that at this point in time. Tweaking the gameplay is much more important to us than a pretty version of the HUD we're using.
Will you admit that knocking up a display in photoshop was a bad idea?
Dave's only ever asked for posts containing personal attacks/insults or posts containing actual lies to be removed (or posts containing leaked ND media). We're perfectly happy to receive criticism as long as it doesn't make untruthful claims (such as ND being vapourware, for example ).
You have to take constructive feedback with good. This isn't
RAR RAR EVERYTHING IS GREAT.
if something is poor it needs to be pointed out and improved thats how mods develop. :P
