Nuclear Dawn is a modification for Valve’s Source engine that combines visceral and violent First Person Shooter action with fast-paced Real Time Strategy in the aftermath of an apocalyptic war. You can choose the mission or lead the attack as a commander, marshalling resources and deploying weapons and equipment for your team to use.
You can storm a building as an assault trooper, cling to the shadows and rely on your active camouflage as a stealth, or unleash terrible firepower from a powered suit of exo-armor. You have the responsibility and the power to decide the outcome of every engagement. If your opponents are lucky there will be enough of them left to bury.
Although we have been around for a long time, this mod is still in active development, and the development team is breaking its collective back on getting this mod to you as soon as possible. Stay tuned !

The month of media May-hem is officially over, and what a way to finish it. Thanks to mentions by PC Zone, Computer Gaming World and Valve Software, the Nuclear Dawn community is bigger and stronger than ever with a 35% increase in numbers and forum activity up 100% since this time last April!
Almost as if to celebrate this fact, the exclusivity period on the Computer Gaming World feature on ND has ended and we can finally reveal the scans of the article. In our three page spread in our project manager Dave waxes lyrical on how the capture points and resource system will work in ND, some of the team's industry professionals explain what motivated them to work on a mod outside of their studio hours, and there are brand new alpha screenshots of the commander's view, some of the RTS structures and a sneak peek at the stealth suit in full effect. Below are the first two pages of the article, the third wouldn't fit comfortably in the space so you'll have to visit Nuclear-dawn.net for the rest of the feature.
The alpha screenshots in these magazine scans are clear evidence of just how far along Nuclear Dawn is in development. With the beta stages this summer fast approaching, we are looking for a few talented level designers to prepare some new maps for this period that can be playtested right up until public release. If you think you have what it takes, drop us an email with examples of your work to contact@nuclear-dawn.net
So the mayhem's over... or is it? Next month promises to be bursting at the seams with media and game information. We'll be revealing more on the commander and stealth classes, releasing the rest of the story timeline with additional information about the factions, and to top it all off we'll even throw in an interview. Add to that a bunch of community activities for you to get involved in and you've got yourself one jam-packed June to look forward to! ;)

EXTREMELY COOL MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At the moment on our active staff we have:
- 2 coders
- 2 animators
- 2 modellers/texture artists + 1 texture artist
- 1 mapper
- 1 sound artist
and about 4 of us make the main contributions to design decisions as they arise.
So, no, it's not just 3 people working on Nuclear Dawn, it's more like 11.
Also, check this out: Youtube.com (main site for HD version)
whats with the lack of staff? 3 people doing proper work.
ND is not dead. See the sporadic newsposts on our main site for info and our latest player model.
We updated the team page.
looks cool
Patience is the key for playability

As a result of the above changes is that we can now give a better estimate as to when you, the public, will get to score your first frag in a ND game! Provided everything goes as planned and meets our quality requirements, we expect to release a closed beta in approximately two months from now (12-31-2006), shortly followed by the first public release. This will be a complete product in itself, but we have a lot more additions planned for the
future. From the development team's point of view, this first release represents our first "checkpoint" to our ultimate plans for Nuclear Dawn.
GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME :)
I don't think he wanted it to sound like that. He's only itching for one of the great mods to be released.I think he ment many mods die all the time and hl2 engine getting older and will sooner or later be replaced with new ones and then alot of people will start playing other things.Anyways, things take time and if we want a playable mod it most likely will take alot of time.
Be patient no matter how hard it is,then the mod might be one you can play over a long time
best of luck
sick of all these shitty "expansion mods"..i want a godamn good one..
