Normandy 1944: European Theatre


Normandy '44: European Theater combines a higher level of realism with a more elaborate doctrine system, which incorporates almost 50 different military units that took part in the campaigns of Jun-Sept. 1944. This spectrum ranges from battalions of free Polish and French units serving under the main allied armies to volunteers from the Eastern Front that served in the German Wehrmacht. This is only a small portion of the doctrine variety however, as this mod feature numerous well known units of all factions as well. The mod also features numerous new abilities and custom made units each with a completely revamped size and structure. Between custom made units and structures with historically correct skins, Normandy '44 offers over 150 NEW UNITS, making for an almost endless variety of different scenarios and unit actions. Combined these factors provide for an experience unlike any other mod for COH that has earned us a spot in the Top 100 Mods THE LAST THREE YEARS RUNNING.

DOWNLOADING & INSTALLING

You can play Normandy 1944: European Theater with ANY VERSION OR COMBINATION OF VERSIONS OF Company of Heroes. Whether it be either of the stand alone versions, COH: Opposing Fronts, COH: Tales of Valor or the base, "Gold" or "Game of the Year" editions.
Any form will work just fine with our modification.
ET44 v2.0 Alpha IS FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH COH v2.602

Simply download either the MANUAL OR AUTO-INSTALLER version of v1.7 or the necessary installaion files for the v2.0 ALPHA from our DOWNLOADS section , install and then follow the icon creation instructions in the READ ME or in our Field Manual, available HERE.
Do not download any of the versions labeled "OUT DATED".


Playing with a Steam version of COH is also not an issue either. Simply install the mod to your proper folder under this path "Steam > SteamApps > common > (YOUR COH FOLDER)" and follow the icon creation instructions in the READ ME or in our Field Manual, downloadable HERE.

Hello everyone, I hope we've all enjoyed our holidays!

First off I would like to note that the new damage system has been implemented for all infantry weapons, and after some initial hilarity during internal testing we've seem to have found what we're looking for out of a "Realistic" CoH2.

As we currently do not have a full implementation of vehicle based stats, we decided internally (Well, when I say "we" I mean I simply went ahead and did it as a placeholder choice whilst I wait for my Armour tech to finish his calculations) to increase all anti-tank/vehicle main guns by 25% of their original value.

This means that counters are essentially the same, but vehicle based combat is faster paced than it was before. We didn't want it to become to unfair/visceral because vehicles then become less and less useful. So this is our current setup and hopefully it should work as intended.

Squad sizes have been increased for the most part, with very few (If any) exceptions. Costs are currently being redone internally and upkeep is next on the list as there are currently major issues with keeping the general pacing of gameplay going with larger squad sizes. This was an expected but annoying outcome from increasing squad sizes, and it is by far the only real issue I have at the moment that stands between internal and an official Alpha release to the community.

This will be the last update on this Moddb page in regards to the CoH2 successor of this modification, those who are interested in following the successor mod should subscribe to the new page in order to receive timely updates in the future.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for staying with me thus far. I'm aware of the massive bumps in the road that this mod has hit before I took over and most importantly when I took this modification over from Ken. There were tons of internal issues such as bugs, crashes, and overall inability to continually update the modification in a timely manner due to it's lack of organization and size.

There is then the issue of the port to Company of Heroes 2, which included an absurdly long period of "Down Time" in which the team was more or less stagnant. But through all of that I still seem to have a rather decently sized following, and to be honest whether it is ten people or ten thousand it means a lot to me.

So in conclusion, I ask that people be patient, and you'll get the CoH2 Alpha of The Last Crusade: 44-45 soon!

As CoH2 maps are generally smaller, the max range for the first build will be 40 and not 60. I'll see how this works out along with everything else. Please don't expect tier/roster changes yet. You'll get a new damage model and some stat/price changes on units for now. Most notably the armour on units will be lowered. (COUGH Shock Troops and Obers COUGH).

Expect some sort of steam release fairly soon as these are basic (And thus quick) changes.

For the initial releases you will not. Currently the idea is essentially to take all of the vanilla rosters/setups and leave them the same but give a more visceral experience for the player.

So if you don't have X Doctrine, you still won't be able to use them. But since I'm not actually going to move anything in them anywhere right now, you should be fine.

As for the long-term, I have been openly asking Relic in multiple forms of communication for some sort of "Modding Summit" Similar to what CA did for Total War. Questions like these need to be answered, and this is also why I have no intention of adding new units to the mod even if they are in the files as I do not know whether this is acceptable or not.

I refuse to put a ton of time into moving things around only to be told that I'm not supposed to touch them, so until then you'll get a far more visceral and tactical CoH2 experience with the same roster of units.

Hi guys i need assistance i have been trying to download this mod but it wont let me i get through the instillation but then it tells me some website made it and from there i dont know what any assistance would be greatly appreciated
