A few words from Maxx:
It's been a while, but our 1.03 update featuring the Survival gamemode is finally here! Lucky for you, now you get to experience some big improvements, additions and changes to No More Room in Hell. We hope that you all enjoy 1.03 and everything it brings along, and we would love to hear what you have to say about it! We are building NMRiH incrementally, one little bit at a time and we want all of you to be a part of that process. Come join us on our forums and be heard! We are often directly involved with the community, and any bugs you might find, ideas you might have or even just stories of your experiences playing the game are all very much appreciated and encouraged.
Just remember that No More Room in Hell is a constant Work-In-Progress; anything and everything are subject to change. Many elements of the 1.03 patch for example are simplified concepts, prototypes of larger ideas that will grow and improve with your feedback. Many of the changes in 1.03 are based on the extensive feedback we received regarding earlier versions, so come talk to us!

- Added Survival Gamemode
- Added "nms_flooded" map by Vincent
- Added Woodman's Hatchet melee weapon
- Added Mossberg 500A shotgun
- Added Helicopter supply crate
- Added Player and Zone supply items
- Added "Jive" as a playable character
- Added Two additional zombie models
- Added Maglite "dual wield" support for the crowbar, hatchet, lead pipe and machete
- Added Tactical reloads and ghost loading
- Added Two commands, 'refresh_postprocess' and 'refresh_screenspace' that can be used to fix the screen going black
- Added Video on game launch.

- Rebalanced melee weapons based on player feedback
- Changed zombie health and damages
- Improved zombie AI and behavior
- Fixed missing sounds for some weapons
- Fixed some crashes during map changes
- Enabled local pathing for zombie npcs
- Updated numerous particle effects
- Re-recorded all player voice commands
- Increase infection length to 90 seconds and play infection sound at last 45 seconds of infection
- Increased Phalanx pills cure time to 3 minutes
- Removed chainsaw from random melee weapon spawning entities
- Player pain sounds are no longer distance-variant
- Certain console commands now require sv_cheats
- Shove damage is now factored into sv_friendly_fire_factor

Mapping Info!
We have a few things going on for mappers in the next few weeks. First off we will be having a mapping competition with some specified theme to be determined. Second we will be opening a public submission process for community made maps to be included into the main build, details and requirements will be announced with he mapping competition. Finally as always we are looking for mappers and modelers to join our team. If you are interested send us an applications to nmrihmod@gmail.com or directly on our forums.
Now as for mapping survival maps as introduced in 1.03 we have a short tutorial on setting up your map in hammer on our wiki located at this link.

Uhm,I dunno if it's me but I tried playing yesterday with some people.
Couldn't see the house textures (walls of pink and black checkers as usual) and everytime I used a flare or the chopper came,the server crashed.
Any news on this?
I've looked around and haven't heard much about it..
YESSSSS UPDATE
I do have one suggestion. Perhaps add weapons that have a tactical light? Like an assault rifle or MP5 with an underbarrel attachment. Although the weapon should be a bit hard to find and the light should shine a bit duller due to its size.

I heard they can't.
Something to do with 4 max light sources, being a Source Engine limitation.
Somehow show them to the L4D servers with 32 players and 32 flashlights.
Of course, that uses a new version of the engine, and it has modified code, but still! It should be POSSIBRU!
yeah but don't forget you don't see others people lighting in l4d.. so it's actually one light source.. even it's 32 players on a modded server.
in nmrih it's actually 4 light sources, you see other peoples light.
I unno bout you, but I see streams of light and where they are pointing their flashlight.
yes.. that's a 2 dimensional sprite, it's not actually lighting up the area now is it ^^
It's dynamic, yes, it lights up the area. Shadow bouncing and all that.
Just like the one I'm using in NMRiH, looks quite alike.
erh.. trust me.. I know 100% sure that in l4d you don't see your team mates light other than the simple beam

It seems like the new flooded map likes crashes servers at the start of the wave or near the end of wave 2 or 3. Happened 5 times already with all kinds of different servers.
Any reason why the survival mode crashes when someone shoots a flare gun? it also crashes servers quite often. I love this game by the way, and I think the developers should all be very proud of what they have accomplished.

I keep getting an Error: Invaild Steam User ID ticket or something. I dont understand how this is happening.

The methods provided to fix the error didn't help me at all D; I think I'll just uninstall the game and have to wait for a new full install release D: Man that really sucks, I was looking forward to this mod coming back with another update.

can anyone help me here? Everytime i try to join or start server it always says: Invalid STEAM userID ticket and Disconnects from the server by it self anyone that can tell me what to do?

Character Customization!!!!!! Really!, i seriously signed up on moddb like 2 seconds ago, just to say this! CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION!!! Not too much but not too little.. everyone loves it :3
If you're willing to make ALL of the art assets, GUI elements, code and animation rigging involved in some basic character customization then right on!!!! Otherwise... NAW NAW **** DAT we don't have THAT much free time haha

All you need is Source SDK Base 2007 installed under "Tools" in your Steam Library!
