There has obviously been an minority of Afro-Russians in the Russian Armed Forces throughout the history, some even reached some very high ranks.
Abram Gannibal and Ivan Gannibal, which both reached the rank of major-general and the latter maybe even General-In-Cheif , were Afro-Russians. Ivan was even appointed by Catherine II to a seat in the Russian Imperial Admiralty. Also worth to be mentioned, Abram was first kidnapped from some African country as a gift for Peter the First. Abram, surprisingly, later became a Russian nobleman and later, even governor of Reval/Tallinn.
Today however, you don't see that many Afro-Russians in the army, most of the ones in the army that looks like Afro-Russians are actually soldiers from African countries. Those soldiers are probably just there for the education.
If there are any Afro-Russians in the Russian AF, they probably serve inside Russia, perhaps as MVD Internal Troops.
