No Hope: The Russians have found out that America's starwars program was bogus.
Russia has authorized the use of ICBMs. Will anyone survive?

NEW UNITS:

Heavy Squad- 1 Sniper, 4 AT troops, and 3
AA troops. Special ability- artillery
SADM Commando- This troop is deadly on his own. He's
armed with machine gun and a modified nade launcher that u can force fire onto
the ground. His best weapon is a small nuke charge that can be remote detonated.
T72 Tank- better
at dealing with other tanks than the T62 and has a fragmentation round for its
special ability that is good against infantry.
Challenger Tank- similar to the above unit,
but packs more of a punch to deal with the Russian Horde
Abrams Tank- split
into two variants, the M1, which is still a good heavy tank for its price and
the M1A1, which has an improved gun and sights, plus uses frag rounds for its
special ability.
Mini Squad US- 2 AT troops, one AA troop, and one medic.
These guys don't sprint but they jog at a decent pace, plus they can hit the
deck on command if they run into trouble out in the open. Laying on the ground
is their defensive ability. This works best when in a crater.
Command Vehicle-
This unit can take on any unit, but best at dealing with choppers. Special
ability radar scan. Can spot incoming enemy TA. Excellent visibility range. This
unit can also deploy smoke if in danger. Popping smoke also activates radar
jamming equipment, just stay in the cloud to remain invisible even to radar.
Available to all roles, but cheapest in the support role. (Credit: Gundug and
Briscoe)
Foxhole
Deployer
- deploys foxholes that can hold 8 troops. This troop can also
repair vehicles and dig trenches, just forcefire onto the ground.(Credit:
Gundug)
Bunker-
holds 8 troops and its armed with stingers, 3 AT missiles, and 3 50 Cal Machine
Guns. Can pop smoke for defensive ability. Popping smoke activates minor repairs
and radar jamming equipment as well.
Foxhole- holds 8 troops that can fire out. Armed with
standard 50 Cal, 1 AT missile, and a stinger for a special ability. Can pop
smoke for defensive ability.
Linebacker- armed with stingers instead of TOW.
BMP-3 AA- variant
armed with stingers.
Crocodile USSR- variant armed with 64 high explosive
rockets, 2 door gunners, and stinger missiles. Although these rockets can target
tanks, its imprortant to force fire them onto the ground for more accuracy and
bumbard a general area. This keeps it easy to keep track of your range and stay
out of the way of HAA and MAA. Cost:1800
Apache Longbow- Extreme visibility range, can spot enemy
TA, has autotargeting hellfires with exceptional range and firepower. Gunner
gains veterancy very quickly and is absolutely insane. Special ability: IR scan.
Cost: 3000.
Gazelle
TAS
(total air superiority)- Armed with autotargeting sidewinder missiles.
Special Ability: HOT missile. Cost 1800.
Nuke Launcher- This was Briscoe and Bob the build's
original idea, and u'll see it in Briscoe's mod. This unit has enough range to
hit anywhere on the map from any firing location. 150% bigger than the vanilla
nuke. Short Initial Load Time: Reload 300 seconds. Cost: 5000 (Its worth it).
scout chopper(troop
transport)
variant available without rockets, but it can carry a small squad
(Engineer or snipers) and cost half as much as the old scout.
NEW TA:
MIRV- launches multiple auto-taragetting nuke warheads.
This TA sets up a huge kill box, 1 km by 0.5km that targets only enemy units
within that area. To deploy it, use it like u would carpet bombing.
Precision Bombing-
B52 or Bear Bomber launches multiple homing cruise missiles.
Rain of Fire-
available only to the Americans; A dirty nuke detonates high in the atmosphere
and rains radioactive fallout over a large area.
Nuke Bomber- available only to the USSR.
Bear Bomber drops a small Nuke.
MOAB- available only to NATO (it really should be a US
TA, so I may swap this one with Rain of Fire later). 50% bigger than a Daisey
Cutter.
H-Bomb-
NATO-here's ur destroy everything on the map TA, huge mushroom cloud and
fireball. Bomb dropped out of c130.
Titan Missile- US- same as above except its missile
deployed
Satan
Warhead
- USSR- ditto.^^^
Napalm Bomber- drops along line of napalm. (Credit
Briscoe)
Bunker-
deploys a very tough bunker that can hold 8 troops.
Foxhole- deploys a very tough foxhole that
can hold 8 troops that can fire out. (Credit: Briscoe and Gundug for idea and
help on it)
Air
Support
- Like Heavy Air Support except its just one pass and its much
cheaper. Armed with 6 anti tank missiles.
Command Vehcile- deploys a command vehicle.
Cheap and effective way to get more AA firepower and spotting range.
Forward Observers-
deploys small airborne squad with good visibility range which can call in Air
Support and Heavy Artillery. These fat boys are loaded down with radio
equipment, so they can't sprint. If u lose the ability to Call in Air Support or
Heavy Artillery it means the squadleader was killed and the others are too
stupid to call in coordinates. Replenish ur squad! (Credit: Keeshondown ; )
ICBM- 4 times bigger
than the vanilla Tactical Nuke for NATO and US forces. The Russian ICBM is 6
times larger than the vanilla nuke (It will take out most of the map if u put it
in the middle). Load Time: 700 Cost: 180 TA points. These will light units on
fire, scorch trees, and then tip them over for added effect and realizm.
Laser Guided Bomb-
Unlike Bunker Busters this TA can hit moving targets click on the target and
forget about it. **known issue, it may not hit the original target u intended,
but will hit something as long as there's an enemy unit in the general area.

On Saturday, July 19 at 6:00PM PST, the Black Hawk Down and No Hope
mod teams will be hosting a joint mod server. The server will be up
until around 8 PM PST depending on how many people decide to show up
and how long they wish to play. Please respond to this post if you're
planning on coming so that we can have an idea of how many people are
going to play. The server schedule will look like this:

6:00-7:00PM PST: No Hope Mod v1.2b

7:00-8:00PM PST: Black Hawk Down Mod v0.22b

Click HERE for time conversions to your time zone

IMPORTANT!!!

Instructions for joining the server:

The No Hope Mod cannot be played on online servers due to fire
rates that are too high. Thus, we will be hosting a virtual LAN match
using Hamachi.
After you have downloaded it, follow the setup tutorial and enter
"bhdwic" as the network name and "nsdq" as the password. You may want
to do this before hand just to figure out how it works and ask us
questions if you need help. Once you have established the connection,
start up WiC as you normally would and go to the Join LAN game screen.
At the bottom right, there will be a button that says "Connect to IP."
Select this and enter 5.220.16.239 as the IP and click Connect. That
should be it!

If we see a high turnout, we hope to be able to do this every weekend.

Hope to see you there,

The BHD and No Hope Teams

No problem. But before someone starts bitching at me because the installer won't work for them on Vista, I've just found out that there are two different directories for Vista, depending on your computer the directory for the mod should be one of these two:
Vista:
C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\World in Conflict\Mods
or
C:\Users\Public\Documents\World in Conflict\Mods

The installer only allows me to put it on one directory so if it doesn't work for Vista try changing the directory in the installer to the other one.

You poor Vista Bastards need to just upgrade(oops downgrade, but not really)to XP so we can eliminate headaches and the tremendous lag it causes on ur computer. Rant over Vista is now done, but lord do I get so many complaints from Vista users. Sheeesh!

Thanks guys, I've had fun making this. Perhaps later I can set up a dedicated "LAN" server (computer that only sets up a LAN match) for online play. That way we can play online anytime we want. Regular servers can't handle the firerates and the online version of this would gobble up all the bandwidth, so its impossible to play this online by normal servers. I'm upgrading my computer so I may take the old junk parts and use it for this LAN online server.

Thanks to General Joe for the idea about how to get an "online server" and providing a link that shows how I could keep this dedicated LAN computer cooled.

If were going to go online with this I'll take into consideration any balancing comments or suggestions.

Thx in Advance

Start wic then go to options and select No Hopev1.4 and Then go to multiplay and set up a LAN match with bots. You can play it on campaign too, but you can pick out only certain units and TAs to use, just like the regular WIC campaign.
