Well guys were doing it. Please visit our development blog at: Ninjamod.blogspot.com Ninja: Rekishi (Ninja:History) will be a historically correct Ninja simulation/stealth game. There will be NO flying grappling hooks or invisibility techniques. The game will come down to pure skill such as misdirection, stealth and technique. The game itself will be based around the player taking control of a Ninja/Shinobi from the feudal period in Japan. As a Ninja the player will have missions to accomplish as given to him by his ruling Daimyo and clan leader. A lot of historical ninja tools will be available such as: Tanto, Testu-bishi, Ninja-to, Bo, Fukiya and Metsubishi. Just to name a few. For those who have no idea of the few tools I just named. It means you will be able to use everything from Blinding powders, Ninja swords and knives to blowpipes and grappling hooks. All in all the game will be very well rounded when it comes to the tools and weapons available. Though the tools themselves will be historically correct and wont have any "special" abilities and so on. At the moment the Single player demo is underway, which will let players go through the training stage. Later we plan to release Single Player Story, Co-Op Story and Multiplayer Vs Modes.

Basically what will happen is that Modding groups from around the world that use the Unreal 3 Engine have a chance to win a full licence to publish the game they make, not to mention make some $$$. Atm, I'm basicly going through all the basic animations using Biped for when the Lowpoly model is complete. I'll then rigg it up and import these animations with the odd tweak here and there. I should have some pics up soon for everyone to see.
Things are moving along really well in the animation and mapping departments. I should hopefully have some development pics up shortly...
I wish you luck guys. I saw the training plan and I can say that you are very ambitious about animations you want to include in the mod. I hope you realise that its the worst thing to do, cause if they suck in a game like this, project will fail. I really hope you finish this one but I doubt it when I see that only 2 guys are in the team.
Thanks for the vote of confidence there mate! I already have all the animations needed for this game underway now. I myself am the animator so I hope I can meet your “expectation” :P No one said this game was gonna be completed in the next few months so I think were fine. I can see where your coming from though. We have more people applying for the team every day, we're just being careful who we take on.
We're not just a group of people who said "hey lets try make a game". We are all CG trained and every things seems to be going along fine so far.

For any future comments from people, if you just have something negative to say please keep it to yourself. You can think this will fail like a lot of other mods unfortunately happen too, but this is going well for us and we're enjoying building it. So like I stated above, any negativity and doubt can be kept to yourself. Everything is well underway and going well.

hehe. Thanks for all the input. We'll try get as many weapons ingame as possible as it will bring more diversity to the game rather then making people use one weapon throughout the game.
