LARGELY OUTDATED NEWS!

* Completely new score with 80+ tracks (over 2 hours of music)
* 2,200+ lines (more than 3.5 hours of audio)
* 7-13 hours of gameplay (estimate based on testers' playthrough times)
- Exploration is everything!
While it can be baffling that people are leaving valuable items and other belongings out in the open, agent Ingram doesn't seem to mind!
- Encrypted datacubes: Remember, once you've hacked an encrypted datacube, you have to click on it again to make the datacube information window disappear.
- General rule on hacking: Keep in mind that you do not need this skill to advance the main plot itself. However, its general usefulness cannot be underestimated!

It is highly recommended that you install Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 runtimes before installing the mod!

The files for Deus Ex: Nihilum have been packaged with the file archiver 7-Zip. If you do not have this program, download it from: 7-zip.org

May 30th 2013 - #1 on ModDB!

Thanks to everyone! Now I truly know it was all worth it! :]

While any more content would have seriously delayed the mod's release, I'm pleased to say that I still have succeeded in releasing the mod that I ultimately wanted to make. It's not meant to break new ground for OR revolutionize a game from the year 2000 - thus DXN's spirit is closer to mods like Double Cross - Chapter 1 (AKA Ritter Park) rather than The Nameless Mod. In many regards I've also tried to make it feel like an expansion pack to the original game, i.e. trying to follow the original's spirit in elements like story, gameplay and dialogue. The plot can be interpreted as a shadow parallel to the original game's story - following similar events through a different lens.

I hope that my stage exit from gaming has been beneficial in any way to everyone involved in its making and that it can bring as much entertainment as possible to anyone who has the time to give it a shot. Here's hoping it succeeds in matching many - or any! - of your expectations, perhaps well enough to keep it in mind at the end of the year? :]

In 2011, I took a 2-year-long break from work in order to begin my University studies - but also to be able to finish this mod properly. I did not expect to be working on DXN for this long (it only took 1.5 years with the final build of TODOA), yet while it may have taken a lot more time than I originally estimated - and also cementing the fact that I'm never going to undertake a project like this ever again - in long run it was all worth it.

Once again, I hope this mod can be enjoyable to as many people as possible!

Congratulation on releasing this project. I'm eager to play it as I need something made with heart to compensate for the latest AAA debacle I hit. And what can be better for this task than a Deus-Ex mod especially one like this. I would not put you on the far end away from TNM. With a project like this I think it's fair to say you are closer to TNM from the spirit than you might think. Be proud of what you accomplished :D

You've accomplished some tremendous work here! Levels are amazing, music is supporting the atmosphere perfectly, story is interesting, voice acting is bad in a funny way, what else could you want from this mod?
This is definitely some quality DX stuff right here.
All the best on your further way and thank you for your hard work!

Congrats, having waited for most of its development, it's worth it. All that matters is that it got to the finish line in the end. Especially with the recent graphical overhaul of new vision and the beta version of HDTP, it really is a pretty good time for Deus Ex.

On the very moment the Kowloon Streets level starts, Yakedo's building is on the right and has the blue roundel on its wall facing the courtyard.

In theory there shouldn't be any problems! Didn't catch anything in that FAQ that should really break the game (especially since DXN doesn't affect DeusEx.u).

Just got a bit stuck on Yumashev Industries.
How can I gain access to the garage? I'm positive there's a nanokey to the lower level there imo.

A datacube in one of the garages clears the situation a bit >_> To quote: "If you need to get to the lower levels, get the door open first from the top floor of the main building. Login 'SantaAnna', password 'Oscar'. Grab the key from the stash in the basement."

Seems I found out that the Nanokey was on that dark little chest in the computer room in the main building's basement, which I missed out.

Thanks! Puzzles me everywhere throughout the game :3

I love this! Some areas are really, annoying though I got stuck twice once where I couldn't find Yakedo I searched everywhere! I finally figured out you need to press the intercom on the top floor. Then again where i missed the chest in the basement of Yuamashev industries. Could do with something to make both of these more obvious. Also the screenshots don't do this game justice.

In this case you should install Kentie's launcher as well. If you've already installed the mod, grab the launcher from Kentie.net and make a copy of the launcher's DeusEx.exe and name it fgrhk.exe in your \Deus Ex\System directory (replacing the one made by the installer).
