In Nightmare House 2 you wake up inside an abandoned hospital with no understanding of how you came to be there, only a vague memory of the girl from Nightmare House haunts you. Soon it will be difficult to determine between a dream and reality. How long will it take you to realize that escape is not an option?

Genuinely scary at a few parts (oh God those mannequins) and genuinely startling at others. Incredible production values for a mod, too.

It had a few major problems, though:
* Overuse of pitch-black darkness to the point where it just gets repetitive, frustrating and not at all fun
* Too many epilepsy-inducing sections with flickering lights, or where you're forced to feel your way by strobe
* Awful, awful writing - with a few glimmers of potential smothered by the consistent awfulness of the dialogue. This wouldn't even be a big deal if the mod didn't focus on the story - but, annoyingly, it did.
* Scripted events that don't quite work - where you try to leave a room, and then realise you can't, and that you'll have to search for the exact right position to trigger the scare you know is coming and you know is arbitrarily holding you in this one particular place.

It has a few flashes of brilliance, but it's just not that good overall. Hopefully there will be a NH3 someday, and hopefully it'll be shorter, more polished, and either improve the story elements or reduce them to almost nothing.
