Formerly meant to be a L4D campaign, I am making various retro NY settings in highly detailed 3D for the Unreal 3 Engine.

Unreal 3 engine is free, and so is this project. Without buying any games (like you have to do when its a mod), without spending one penny.. You'll be able to walk around inside the World Trade Center again as it was 25 years ago.

You'll be able to see Times Square before the urban renewal of the 90s.

Unreal 3 Engine provides maximum quality. See this video of Unreal 3 in action.

Source engine, I do not miss you. :V

Help is welcome.

Did anyone here capture any photos or videos of the World Trade Center?

I'm having trouble finding references for the lobby of the towers in general. Most shots are viewing the windows/exterior columns, and not the interior. Majority of references are not the elevators, or showing the hallway in the center of the core that cuts through on the concourse level.

I'm trying to find stuff from 70s or 80s preferably, but even something from as late as 2001 will suffice, better than nothing.

Ask around will ya? It has me kinda stumped, because these blueprints only tell so much.

I'm ready to start detailing and texturing the inside, just need more references.

The sooner I get that done, I'll have a demo for you guys ;)

I've released the VMFs of my work in Hammer. This can only be opened in L4D 2 authoring tools.

I'm releasing these so you can look at them or try building a little yourself. There is a large VTF texture included. It is needed for the "WTC" map...

Wait till it goes on sale again. I think I bought L4D 2 when it was 50% off.

I was doing it for L4D 1, but I decided to use L4D 2 because of some of its new features; more customization options (easier too), and also more stock content.

Plus there are more gameplay/gamemode options, zombies, weapons, etc.

With a little re-skinning or model replacement of the current characters, I'm sure this will be better than L4D 1 or 2 put together.

Why not take the time to make it for both games? You could use the same maps and you wouldn't have to edit that much would you?
