I'd like to sincerely thank everyone in the community for their support over the years; without you, I wouldn't have had the motivation to continue working on this project for 5 years of my life. I'd also like to thank someone else; if you're reading this you know who you are: thank you.

I hope you all enjoy the mod and I wish you all the best.

Hello! I've made a guide on how to install this and several other graphics-improving mods on YouTube: Helping out spread the word about this awesome mod in my own little way.

If you find the guide useful, please Like and/or subscribe!

"The guide contains instructions on where to find and how to install the following:

1. Kentie's Deus Ex exe
3. New Vision v1.5"

Hello there, thank you for this awesome mod!

I have Windows 8 x64 and a mobility radeon HD 4570, and I have just a small issue: when I am near some item half of it gets hidden by the table/floor/thing_under_it

Here's a screenshot of what I mean:

Your game is running in Software mode and this was a fairly common bug with the Unreal engine. None of those textures are from New Vision, they're the originals. Are you trying to use OpenGL?

I didn't like that light coronas in the first level, so I created less-disturbing version.

Have you checked the readme file? To activate the mod, you'll have to either manually edit the DeusEx.ini file or use a launcher like Kentie's one and check that the files from NV are set in the data directories config. Also, you might have to manually add the option to use S3TC in DeusEx.ini.

Does New Vision replace character textures? I've been watching the opening cinematic for an indication that they were changed, but both Bob and Walton are the same.

The answer is no: New Vision only replaces textures of objects. To replace the characters textures, you have to use the HDTP ( It is still in beta, though, but you can download it from their forum (manual installation only with specific steps).
Be aware that the HDTP aims to replace some of the main chracters and not all. In the intro, Walton will be updated but not Bob.

Both packs are complementary and work well with each other.

Unfortunately, it's pretty obvious that HDTP is dead. :( The last news update was in 2008... its been FIVE years. I wish someone would pick up where that guy left off. A lot of work has already been done. Its such a shame it's not finished. This mod is done, and it looks like that mod was about halfway done. That means that DeusEx has been 75% upgraded. Why let it end there? I don't understand that. Its still one of the best games in existence right now, alongside System Shock 2 and list of others.

HDTP is progressing quite nicely, they just stopped updating their ModDB page.

Exceptional texture mod that adds a significant amount of detail to an already exceptional game. Many thanks to the developers of New Vision for bringing a old gem to new life. In a nutshell, this mod makes everything look better from a world texture standpoint. With the 1.0 update, New Vision has become a near complete package with the addition of several new textures, the fixed deusex.exe (helps re-size screen, choose renders, and run on modern systems) and the included DX renders.
