This is a total conversion of Sins of a Solar Empire. five new playble races will be introduced each with differing play styles and apearances. The focus of this mod will be small and large scale fleet stratagy and empire building.
The Mark 2 hornets are one of the most devastating ship designs ever devised by the T.E.F. Being slightly larger then the average strike craft one would think that the craft would be less maneuverable. This however is not true for the Hornet thanks to its most unique feature, a small scale fusion engine which powers all of the craft functions. By utilizing this source of energy manufacturers have been able to incorporate shielding as well as a reasonable amount of armor. All these features combined with a pair of small caliber rail guns has made the Hornet the most successful strike craft ever designed capable of going outmatching any other ship of its class and causing huge problems for larger ships like cruisers whoes point defense weapons find the nimble ship incredibley hard to hit. The design however is not without its flaws the main one being a direct result of its biggest strength. That is that the fusion reactor runs the risk of being breached during combat and either shutting down leaving the pilot stranded, or may actually overload engulfing the pilot in a massive ball of plasma as the fusion reactor breaks apart expelling its contents into space.
this particular model has been sitting there nagging me to finish it for some time and i decided to finish it but i'm not so sure about it.

Hmm....Is there going to be a ability to manually overload the Fusion Reactor? Like Space Kamikaze a ship with a ball of plasma,doing AoE damage of about i dunno a half mile? like 15-20 damage for the overload.imagine a whole squadron doing that.
lol no the overload occurs when the ship is destroyed and acts like the volatile gas from a gas giant. the ship itself is far more useful when its alive since its weapons do a significant amount of damage.
