NEOTOKYO° is a first person shooter that aims to provide a visceral & realistic combat experience in a rich futuristic setting. NEOTOKYO° takes place in and around a fictionalized Tokyo approximately 30 years in the future. Mankind has begun to fuse with technology. Government and corporate corruption have transformed Tokyo into a deadly dystopian nightmare. After a near-successful military coup by ranking members of Jinrai, the National Security Force (NSF) is formed - answering directly to the Prime Minister, it's mission is to investigate and eliminate all threats to Japan, both abroad and at home. The initial core of the NSF is made from an exodus from within the intelligence branch of the military. With this betrayal begins the war in the shadows between the NSF and Jinrai.

Okay, I beat Half Life 2 long long ago and don't think I should have to buy it AGAIN!!! Why not a standalone version?! UGH..... Guess I shall have to pass on this one. Bad form. Bad form son. Take a hint from Black Mesa and just make a standalone version where you DON'T HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER GAME!

Neotokyo doesn't require any purchases to play and can be installed on a fresh Steam account, same as Black Mesa. You need to install the free Source SDK Base 2007 from the Tools section of your library:

freebird4481: This is all very basic. Like every other mod you'll need a version of Source SDK Base installed. For NeoTokyo you'll need to go to tools under library and make sure you have Source 2006 installed. Once you run the installer you then need to restart steam so it can repopulate. It should now be listed under Library > Games. We apologize for not providing instructions but this is usually common knowledge. I hope that helps.

Tried to play this yesterday, but as a EU player the experience tends to be quite horrible, as there's only one server with a decent ping, and that one is running an incompatible version.

I had 4 servers running at one point just to keep up with the demand. All based in Sweden, running the latest version. What time was it when you tried? /Agiel (forgot to log in)

I agree, I'd like to see it on Source 2009 or 2011, but highly unlikely.

Just played most of the day. Great job, love the new maps and new textures. Can't wait for Greenlight be ready, moar players!

Its been a year since I held my PZ-252... good times were had bunkering folks. Also 1 grenade and got a quad, bunkered 5 people on 1 PZ clip, and finished a server when all hope was lost with 1 teammate with no health and the enemy ghost carrier killed his teammate and quit which won us the game.

(and one server kinda went full retard but in a good way ie OMG JC A BOMB) :D

Thinking for weeks about playing NeoTokyo again, checking the website for downloads and suddenly HOLLY BURGER NEW UPDATE. And with the left lean fix ! But the bug with moving and changing weapon thingy is still there ? Haven't played in a while so I don't remember exactly what that bug was.
