"Nehrim - At Fate's Edge" is a finished Total Conversion for the RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and at the same time one of the biggest mods for this game at all. Total Conversion means it is a self-contained game that bases upon the Oblivion game engine, but has no relation to Oblivion's lore. It is a world in which neither Tamriel nor any other TES based name exists. The continent itself on which the game is situated is called Nehrim, it is completely independent from the base game.

Nehrim was developed by the Sureai Team (www.sureai.de). We have already created two Total Conversions for Morrowind, named Arktwend and Myar Aranath; the first was also translated into English.

The English version of Nehrim that will include translated texts and German voice acting will be released in early September 2010.

Our aim was to create a fantasy world which is as lively and atmospheric as realisable in the limits of our possiblilities. We primarily developed Nehrim for those players who love RPGs and were disappointed by Oblivion on that score. Nehrim will be a role playing game with elements of action, no action game with elements of role playing games.

Nehrim is officially moddb.com's Best Singleplayer Mod 2010

Editors Choice!

Best Singleplayer Mod 2010 Editors Choice

This is huge.
First, thanks to all folks who voted us to the Top 100 list. Thanks to the translation team - although we know that the English translation is far from perfect, we'll be trying to improve it in future patches. Thanks to all who contributed to this mod!

The SureAI team will do its best to earn the success even in the future:

  • The major update 1.1.0 will be released soon, including new bounty quests and arena fights as well as an additional Zeroblion quest.
  • An addon is under development. It will continue Nehrim's story line from the moment the original game's main quest ended.

In other words: Stay tuned and expect much!

The dam in the river ( made by the beavers) is for me a striking example of a living world, even skyrim has none of that feel.

You guys ought to be sending your CVs to Bethesda.

For everyone that is having problems with tons of "!" signs and purple textures, missing voices, ect.
Go to your oblivion configuration file (named oblivion.ini) Usually its under users/my documents/my games/oblivion/oblivion.ini, open with notepad, and search for the text line near the bottom that has the following: SArchiveList=Oblivion - Meshes.bsa, Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa, Oblivion - Sounds.bsa, Oblivion - Voices1.bsa, Oblivion - Voices2.bsa, Oblivion - Misc.bsa
At the end add all the .bsa files in your nehrim folder that arent already there (ex: nehrim - Meshes, or Nehrim - Sounds, ect).
It should look like:
SArchiveList=Oblivion - Meshes.bsa, Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa, Oblivion - Sounds.bsa, Oblivion - Voices1.bsa, Oblivion - Voices2.bsa, Oblivion - Misc.bsa, Nehrim - Meshes, Nehrim - LODdata, Nehrim - Misc, Nehrim - Textures
I think I spelled them all right. Hope this helps.

Ok i think I fixed it by adjusting some setting with the Nehrim launcher, changed resolution and basically everything else I put on.

Well, I have just started playing but I have many texture problems. Many character textures are missing and there are numerous yellow exclamation marks and purple patches in the cave. I can't see where to go. I think my installation of Oblivion is ok so I don't know why so many problems.

Play this game, guys, If you haven't done so yet. It's way better than Skyrim which I have just finished. You like a profound storyline and an exciting story in general, then this mod is your game. I can't wait to play Project 5. Forget Bethesda. They really should invite Sure Ai to join their team in regard of telling and writing stories.

Feels like an all new game to me, astonishing work!
The level of detail is absolutely amazing, the story great.

Better than most commercial RPGs on the market today!
