Naruto: Naiteki Kensei is a free total-conversion of Half-Life 1 that offers a new and unique fast-paced gaming experience based on the hit Japanese anime Naruto. Combining aspects of a third-person shooter and an action-based fighter, players will be able to go head-to-head against others online casting clever and powerful jutsus, performing evasive, acrobatic, and free-form movement and melee, and utilizing an array of weapons with multiple functions easily and evenly. Players are able to transverse through full 3D environments, utilizing various ways of movment such as walking on water or dashing around the streets of a village.

Welcome to Friday Update #59!

As always we're striving to improve NNK's quality. So today we're taking a look at our updated Chuunin Finals!

As you guys know, we've already given you a couple of looks at Chuunin Finals in our earlier updates you can find here and here.

It has always been one of the most played maps over the months. Being our most open arena map we wanted to make sure that no details were spared and all players got the true experience of fighting in the massive arena with Konoha towering in the distance. A lot of work has gone into our maps since day one and more work continues to be done each week. It has been a goal of NNK to release everything at high quality instead of a mod with a lot of mediocre content. 59 weeks later we can say we've held true to that goal.

So enjoy the screens of our new revamped textures and backdrop!

It's much more impressive when done in GoldSRC, in Source is would just look like another source mod with Naruto characters.

Actually yeah it is, since you'd just let all the shaders do the work for you. This mod team is actually making that code on their own, so it's a HELL of a lot more impressive technically speaking.

Almost everyone from our team knows the goldsource engine inside out and in the beginning it was meant to be a small fun project made by a few friends ... we never expected it to become this big.
Besides, anyone can pull something like this off on source but only a handful of people can do it on goldsource :D
