Napoleonic Era is a renowned, fan-made modification for Age of Empires 3 and its expansions The Warchiefs and The Asian Dynasties. The mod intends to accurately illustrate the time from 1555-1815 by greatly expanding and reworking the game with new units, buildings, maps, sounds, music and civilizations. The mod has been founded in January 2006 by Alexander Fleger and is being continued by Peter Piepenburg since February 2010. It is still one of the most anticipated mods for Age of Empires III in the whole world.

Ow yes, I'm a guilty sinner!

Please forgive me, but it was necessary and it had to be done by anybody! Now NE has a facebook site and a twitter site. I decided to start a lil Social Media campaign, check it out!

We'll use facebook for announcements, linking news, making events (such as gaming events, release dates, ...), collecting different types of media, getting in contact with fans and and and ..
» Open NE@Facebook

Twitter will be used for chatting with fans, answering their questions, work exhibitionism (all kinds of spoiling..). Also all updates on the facebook page will be shown on twitter (but not vice versa).
» Open NE@Twitter

And what about Google Plus? Hu? - Well, Google+ doesn't support company pages yet or .. I didn't find anything like this. Thus the logo on the paper exactly tells what the situation looks like: I plan to make a page there in the future, but for now it remains a plan, a sketch only realized on paper. If you know any other way than just creating a new user account, leave me a note. ;)
» No page yet, sorry guys!

Ow lol. Myspace. Haven't been there for ages. You remember it? That old social network site with a historical breakthrough, that has become an obsolete music page now. Therefore this will be put into the archive, no updates anymore on that page (last blog entry in April 2007, lol!). The last update was today, fought with the layout a lil and updated the About section. Bye bye Myspace!

So I downloaded the beta, ran it, and then started up my game. It started with the Napoleonic Era loading screens, so I was glad. When it reached main men I pressed ''Skirmish'' and I had to create a new user name and select a new home city from 5 or so of the standard factions, and I had to change their standard names because ''they were already in use''. After I create a new home city suddenly I have two home cities for every of the 5 factions, one for Deathmatch and the other for Supremacy. Apart from that the game is entirely the same as vanilla, with no new units or maps or factions.

I looked at the beta folder in My Games and noticed that most of the folders are empty, such as ''home cities''.

I've re-installed it several times, deleting the folder in My Games and it's always the same. I have absolutely no idea what is at cause here, do you?

It does overwrite most files, which the game has backed up already though. NE also comes with new files that don't touch the original game files, but are read before. Nevertheless I'd advise you to make a copy of your AoE3 folder, since I've heard some people have difficulties to uninstall the mod. ;)

I've deleted all your single research posts, think next time before you make so much posts that push all the other people's posts out. I didn't ask for them, so there is no good reason why you should post them right here as single posts (as comment it might have been okay).

Lots of your research is not usable for us. It exceeds the timeline. If you do not even know that the NE timeline is 1555-1815, I think that doesn't make you look like a very well-informed researcher.

You can correct that reputation by proving better by registering on our forums and applying for a researcher. You can get a test task and I'll have a look on your skills.

I fear we do not have enough manpower to make a campaign.
