Mystic Fields is a multiplayer Quakeworld and Half-Life modification with the goal to insert a new kind of playability in a new exciting context, based on RPG elements. Melee fighting, magic, strategy, teamplay, monsters and fantastic adventures. We look forward solid teamplay capabilities, as seen in Team Fortress, and impactating innovations, based on the newest features for Quakeworld, like rotating solids, monsters, Half-Life maps, high-quality textures...
The Half-Life version, our secondary goal, will be just like the Quakeworld version...but only if we manage to do this.

History:

"This centenary kingdom always brought peace and justice into the Mystic Fields' world. Fear wasn't a well known word by the The Fellowship citizens. But it was the same power and wealthiness that brought its ruin. All kinds of traders and travellers were attracted by its unending greatness. The rumours wouldn't cease, and finally they arrived at the biggest empire abroad, the Underworld. Even the most corageous travellers and wariors avoided the smallest contact with those lands. Those who managed to return wouldn't say anything but explode their mouths in chaotic laughter. It didn't take long before hoards of half-human soldiers and terrifying creatures were prompted for the first attack. The great evil empire was expading and the interest in slaves, gold and lands too. At first, no one believed. Such battle could send Mystic Fields to an endless hell. But the battle was real, and was only beginning..."

We changed our minds again. This MOD will be mainly for Quake/Quakeworld. HL may come later.

Just wanted to let you know that this Total Modification is not dead yet. I'm just trying to arrange time to develop it further, but life has been mean to me :(

Well, I've found SPike's amazing Quakeworld client, FTE Quakeworld, and surely will need to dig it for 2 months before I can go back to my modelling in peace. It offers incredible effects and extensions for the Quake engine, and I really need to master it before I can go on. Hang on til there. Bye.

I have found the official site of Opnequartz Project and downloaded the necessary information to distribute the models under GPL. 24 bit skins for Goat Demon, PtheraScragg are on the way. ZombieTree already has one as shown in the gallery. Also, the models are going through some mesh changes also. But I pretend to leave the poly count alone. Mystic Fields is directed to be a high quality mod but with low poly models (quake & quake2 standards). The models should convince though.

I'm a bit ignorant in relation to GPL and stuff. Of course this project is meant to be truly free and under any free-source convention, and I'm taking care to keep the readmes for each model. Anyway I guess all you are saying is that I should check the text files and see if the model is GPL'ed or not.

I'm 21 at the moment and I pretend to finish this project even if it takes 10 more years. I started it when I was 18, but life's calling showed me how difficult is to divide time. Nom I'm under the blade of the sword trying to become "more than an average human being" and fullfilling every second until the mod's completion.

Some new models are going to pop out soon, maybe until January. Thank you.

I'm seeking for possible improvements and corrections for the game's story. It's possible that I've made some mistakes when translating it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Of course that the credits and further author authorization is on my agenda! Anyway the MOD has been paused because of my current inability of carrying my studies alongside my hobbys. So, i hope to be a better human being the next few months and restart the mod labouring with full power. Wait til there folks. Thank you for the support.

Quote:We are going to remake/improve them

... without the author's authorization?

Quote:And I don't think that old models from an old game are so author-dependant.

and i think that they are.

"Also where's credit to the free models project where the goat demon and the tree come from? Heck even that dragon from qtest "

This is true? .. so this mod has lame management?

sad
