Muskets change the way the game works completely, no longer is the knight lord and master but victory comes trough leadership and good use of your army's strengths.

In The Year 1800:

In the last three hundred years, the continent of Caldaria has changed mostly in the way it fights. Gone are the clumsy broadswords and bow weaponry, replaced with the fire and sword of the firearm and bayonet!

The descendent nations of Swadia, Nord, Rhodok, Khergit and Sarranid have bitterly fought back and forth across the continent for decades but even with the technology of gunpowder in their hands they still meet stalemate. It has barely been an entire decade of tension since the Treaty Of Praven enforced by the great Rhodok Republic-United Provinces of Nordland Alliance after the betrayal and defeat of the Swadian Empire and already the powers of the land are preparing for war. Rumours abound that the Rhodok trade fleet was suddenly sunk to the bottom a distant ocean of foreign lands have emboldened the Swadian Emperor to muster his forces for a new mountain campaign whilst on his borders the Nord castles and forts remain barely occupied.

The people of these regions already rebelling against the Swadian Emperors enforced Religion eagerly already take up arms to fight.
The Nord nation once again finds itself staring down at a desperate Vaeger nation marching for its beloved capital Sargoth determined to seize on the way not only the bountiful Nord iron deposits and coal mines but the wealth of the Nord trade fleet which is entirely anchored and under major repairs.

The desperate drive of the Vaegers is due to the fact that the harsh winters and constant border skirmishes with the Hetmanate have cost them dearly in both gold and natural resources their traditional enemy seizing and burning what they can in the east growing fat from not only their trade but of the other nations.
The Khergit have changed. Due to a major Vaeger invasion in the past the mostly nomadic old ways have even been adapted or dropped, still the masters of light horse combat they have learnt the arts of pike and shot combat from the Vaeger settlers who stayed after the great invasion and combined with a new national spirit inside them they now march on their former occupiers eager for revenge after the success of the surprise attack and great sack of Shariz. But they are weary of their Sarranid neighbors who are also rapidly modernising to meet them on the field of battle for this disgrace.
And they are right. The Great Sacking of Shariz the worst in three hundred years has disgraced the Sultan making him look weak to his own people. Desperate, he is in great debt to the Rhodok nation and their banks and is in a race against time to rearm and retrain the sons of the desert to fully embrace this age of fire and bayonet. He prepares before the great hordes arrive to take what little he has left and borrowed.

The fears of the Sultan are not alone, secretly the ambitions of other nations Emperors and Monarchs cannot now even give any of them peaceful sleep at night. The people of the land are restless. Constant war and conscription combined with the squalor of the old rotting cities in this growing Industrial age has pushed the general will of the people to breaking point and rumours of bands of Revolutionaries roaming the countryside and exiled Nobles banding together to set up something known as 'Democratic Governments' in the courts of their enemies and allies alike.

This is a problem all the nations face and it simply cannot be run down or shot.
Bands of Mercenaries, Pirates and Deserters also once again roam the roads of the land pillaging and enslaving those unfortunate enough to come across them, and worst of all rumours of total war igniting the lands once more.It is truly the age of Empire, but which one will truly be triumphant?

Vaegir Tzardom:

A faction influenced by Imperial Russia of the Napoleonic Wars, they are
uniformed in intimidating black uniforms and are experts in skirmishing
in the snow blanked forests of their own motherland. Weakened by
enforced conscription on a still fedual people Vaeger soldiers that can
survive war can be drilled into the best Elite Infantry on the field.

United Provinces of Nordland

A faction that of Swedish and Dutch influence, these former Nord
descended city states are one of several strong colonial powers of the
region who have mastered the curious technology of multi barreled
muskets. Whilst they have a strong general core of Infantry serving
their Grand Marshal they sadly lack good border fortifcations and in a
war they are forced to go on the offensive.

Holy Swadian Imperium:

A faction influenced by the Austrian, French and British Empires of the real
world, the Swadium Imperium is a sprawling entity with an huge varied
but expensive to train and supply modern army that makes up for it.
Those serving must be aware that due to recent events in the history of
the nation that they will be under threat of bandit raids from
revolutionary and bandit forces in their own borders.
2nd Rhodok Republic:

The
2nd Rhodok Republic is a combination of Italy and Revolutionary France
who are masters of their own colonial regions outside the contiennt and
experits of experimental musket technology. With their advanced Rifles
and the most elite light infantry in the land they in the perfect
position to weather any storm. But they lack a strong core of their army
relying on citizen soldiers and are also too under threat of break away
bandit activity.
Sarranid Empire:

An older Empire with a unique style modeled after 18th Century Ottomans
and their vassals the Sarranid Empire is halfway stuck in the past
compared to the other nations with an army split down in the middle
technology wise. They however have the advantage of being cheaper to
train and maintain than their southern enemies and what weakness can be
patched up with foreign mercenaries.

Kessick Khergit Hetmanate:

A faction inspire by the combination of real world Cossack Clans of the
18th century and the Mongols the Kessick Hetmanate is an army of several
varients of light cavalry and older 17th century style line infantry
armed with older muskets and pikes. However despite their older ways
they have bigger ambitions

A quick comment on troop balancing and line combat. You need to put a limiter on the distance that troops fire from. At the moment, enemy troops start firing as soon as the battle starts and they are getting hits and kills at outrageous distances. With rifle units it would be ok but with regular line units its rather unrealistic. An option would be to tweak the accuracy of the muskets so they are less accurate at longer ranges. That would be a neat fix and you could also alter that value for different factions if you feel one faction should have better muskets than the other.

well, there's only 1 accuracy stat that affects long distance and short distance, reducing the accuracy on the long range will also affect short range and as it is the muskets are already very unrelyable. sure it's not 100% realistic that they can sometimes snipe someone from a large distance, but missing 4/5 shots on point blank range is not that amuzing. reducing the accuracy of the muskets will cause ranged to be kinda pointless and make the OP cav even more OP.

However you do have a good point so we'll see if we can somehow fix this, a possible solution as you suggested is to limit the range at wich the troops even attempt to shoot, i dont know if we can even do that but it's worth a shot.

I see what you mean but it's been done before. The Europe 1805 Mod for the original mount and blade and 1812-1815 Napoleonic Warfare mod for warband both had that feature.

So it can be done. The question is how to do it.

Has your team ever thought about editing some maps or battlefields at least? taking a castle/keep/town is easy as something easier than my non existent GF, but in the open field most of my fights are either major victories(flat ground) or major defeats(mountains)

Also making a new map entirely? instead of Calradia? maybe some form of a new continent or Europe?

Great Mod! I would definitely give it a full on 10 if the settlements were redesigned to more resemble the time era and Freelancer was added on. Also, it would be great if the small grammatical errors were fixed. It's the small things that really make it! Otherwise, incredible job!

This is not a Mod, but just some Uniforms and historical stuff thrown in the Medieval Native M&B Warband. I do invite everybody to still download it and RATE it, though, cuz any effort made by any kind of Modder, deserves attention. You will decide on your own the vote that is worth. I never rated so low anything in my life, but in this case, after a long and objective try of Shorun' s work, I cannot find a single positive aspect that could justify a higher rate. I suggest to him to spend more…
