Monster Hunt: Team MH Edition is a brand new update to the original MonsterHunt. It features all the same gameplay and features as the original, PLUS an entirely new gametype that allows 2 teams to compete against each other for the high-score. The feature list will include:

-New "TeamMH" gametype that allows 2 teams to compete. It will play all of the current MH maps as well as new maps designed specifically for TeamMH.

-New tools for map creation: various new scripts and monsters that will allow mappers to even further customize thier maps and add much needed variation to gameplay. scripts such as a custom camera actor for making cutscenes, and an AdvancedMonsterEnd trigger that allows mappers to change the win/lose conditions on their map, as well as many more.

-updates to the original MH code, fixing various bugs.

-Backwards compatible with the original MH, including ALL existing MH maps.

Hey everyone,

I just added 3 screenshots of the brand new, nearly finished, Hunt Objectives Menu. They are in the image gallery (if you havent already seen them on the main page). I showed it using 3 different HUD colors just to show that it matches whatever color you are using. All of the objectives and descriptions were made up just for the test map I was using. So you wont be seeing a map with those objectives any time soon, lol. Also, the screenshots were just a few random textures i picked just to show that the Map-shot works. I am pretty happy with how its looking so far, although it looks a little bulky at the moment. I am going to see about shrinking it once I have everything in place. Right now, the up/down scroll buttons on the text box havent been added (they are just textures), so once i finish those Ill play with the sizes.

Besides the window itself, I have made 2 other actors to help mappers set it up.

HuntObjectives: This is the actor you place in the map. You can set up to 4 primary and 4 secondary objectives on it, with a screenshot for each. You can also choose which team it applies to (so if you are playing a TMH game, each team can have their own objectives).

EditObjective: You can place this actor in a map and trigger it to either add a new objective, or remove an old one from the list. This way you can have more than 4 objectives in your map, but the player wont be confused as to which one they should be doing first.

I still have to test everything out online, but hopefully I shouldnt run into too many problems there, because most of the code for this thing is run client-side anyway (no need to do replication). Stay tuned for more as I approach my Nov 26 deadline (which, as someone from PMH pointed out to me, is also the 7 year birthday of UT ;)

I added a short video of the HuntCamera in action to the Downloads section. I uploaded it in 3 formats, with different codecs and sizes. I wasnt sure what people liked best. I think i am going to stick with the divx codec, even though some people may not be able to play it without divx player.

Well, atm the HUD looks the same as the original MH hud. The only thing that is any different is the scoreboard for TeamMH. Most of the changes in the HUD were to add some extra functions that things like the HuntCamera and AdvancedMonsterEnd take advantage of. I think what I am going to do is make a short vid that shows off the camera in action though....

Just letting anyone who is interested know that i have finished the brunt of the coding. My team and I are going to be doing online testing now, as well as making some new maps for it. I have already started a map of my own, and i know of at least 4 people who are going to be making maps for either TMH or MHPlus.

I Just made a news post detailing the newest features/additions, as well as what still needs to be done before release. Click the news/features tab to see it. Hopefully soon we can get some good screenshots to show you too....

I honestly cant believe i have done this much. Even though it has taken me forever, im glad that i actually followed through on this one, especially after so many other MH-based mods have failed before me....
