Momentum is a mod for Crysis that adds new abilities. Most important of these are the new parkour moves. Parkour in Momentum is based off the mirror's edge flowgraph by Darkwish, which is designed to make Crysis play like mirror's edge.

Momentum updates this flowgraph and changes how you play. When wall running you should make sure you have "momentum". A momentum guage is displayed at the bottom middle of the hud. This represents how fast you are moving, not in km phr hour or miles ph. The value is simply meant to indicate what you can do.

When the momentum guage says you are moving at 1, you are walking, if you are moving at 3, you are jogging, if you are moving at 5, you are running, if you are moving at 8, you are running too fast to be able to grab things, or use weapons, apart from ninja rope whilst in the air. 10 is generally the max speed you will achieve sprinting on foot without boosts.

Here are the new features.

  • Hand and Leg Animations for climbing, wall running, vaulting
  • View locking when climbing
  • Lock-on aiming
  • ninja rope (right mouse button with fists out)
  • repelling (left mouse button with fists out)
  • parachute (shift whilst in the air with nothing around you [3m radius])
  • Lunge Melee (t whilst in front of an object, entity)

Here are the things that I already had.

  • Momentum based turning (a and d for sharp turns, q and e for smaller turns)
  • Rolling while prone (q and e)
  • Diving (z whilst sprinting)
  • Sliding (lctrl whilst sprinting)
  • Animations for vaulting over small obstacles (updated, 3 separate levels of height)
  • Animations for Sliding (updated)
  • Metroid Prime lock on view (caps lock)

Shame this doesn't work, just tried it out, nothing happens, not to mention there's little data on how it works anyway. Just features and that's pretty much all we're seeing, I suppose modding was different way back in 2010 as I re-call anyway so with it being dead, don't download because as soon as you start the story, nothing changes, just rushed through two missions to see if it'd kick in and nothing happens or functions at all.

I assume you tried to play this on campaign/story? Well I'm sorry, but the mod isn't going to work on it (and makes sense when you realise), because the flowgraph running all these new functions was never added to the SP levels, only the custom map included with the mod has it. All of the SP levels need to be updated and have the flowgraph embedded into every single one in order to work at all. Lucky for us, we have access to it, so you can get to work on updating them at any time.

whenever i hit mouse 2 all weapons/parkour moves Stop working! How do i fix it?

Well i fixed it and deleted the error proximity 9 but there are still alot of errors parts of the maps are missing and the animations and hud and rope and everything nk hunt and momentum parkour dont work so im just gonna get the whole game with wars and warhead....

Wow i love this mod but im having trouble. I have the demo crysis and when i type map battleatrefinery it just goes to the mission contact so i go to sandbox2 but when i do ctrl g the welcome to nk hunt page doents go away. (i haved tried reinstalling the mod the map is fine but its just the loader page) if anyone can help id be greatful. Thanks

Crysis really did need something wherein you don't just do something simple on a superhuman scale, but something complicated on a normal human scale.
