We are pleased to share with you the first (now second) public release of Modular Combat. From this point on, when we update the mod, you get to reap the benefits.

For those who not aware, Modular Combat is an action-RPG mod for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch! This mod puts you in the HEV Mark VI, designed to communicate with a BoSS computer. Kill other players to gain experience which will earn you levels and upgrade points. Use the upgrade points to buy modules, which will grant your hazard suit extra abilities. BoSS will remember your account information and up to three different suit configuration across each session on a server.

Thanks...I'm working on getting some more servers, but it requires some special hosting needs that I'm not convinced can be met yet.

It could be possible that you don't have Half-Life 2: Deathmatch installed or the Source SDK 2007: Orange Box.

If I'm not mistaken, you can play the "Players VS Monsters" mode to level up without fear of being "owned" by more evolved players. Then you can start upgrading and kick *** with the newfound confidence that emanates from your new abilities. =P

hope you can get rid of the whole mods and stick to hl2 or hl2:dm or sdk

this would be perfect and it would boost the number of servers ;)

Hehe, it would be nice to have some content of our own, I agree...but I find a certain comfort in trying to fit into the Half-Life universe.

There was no one around for DM so I tried monster mode by myself and found that the levels were spartan with the same exact monsters painted red and they did no damage except for the poison headcrab.

For the love of god, the vortigaunts really need their max range decreased. It's a ridiculous ratio of how far they shoot to how much damage they do.

We're keep an eye on this issue. We're lowering the base damage and seeing how that affects gameplay.
