Oct 28, 2007 Full Version 5 commentsMistake 1.0 Running with steam and won too. Enjoy! XD
This mod will let us into a horroristic world in the Andrew Parker asylum and we will live through (or not) in the view of a mental patient.
The mod's primal object is not the insane bloodbath. The real object is to escape from the huge building which holds a lot of secrets.
The mod have been completed after 3 months. It gives you 15-20 freaking minutes in the horroristic Andrew Parker asylum. The game runs with WON and Steam based Half-Life too.
The mod includes:
- new textures
- new sounds
- new HUD
- new maps
- new menu
- changed and new models

I can't believe people are saying this is similar to Afraid of Monsters. Like AoM is the only Survival Horror game where you hunt for keys and buttons? Cripes, people.
Good mod, very similar to AoM, no problem there though, gave a slightly different taste of corruption rather than delusion, extended play hours (or in your case, minutes) would be nice, but thats all fun game, and yes a bit scary to (scary, not just creepy or disturbing, actually scary, so good job.) Also, a better, more concluding ending I feel is on the list, that or another chapter/sequel or chronicle.
I have tested the game and here is what i think.
I never had direction problem, cuz i play it on my old copy of hl :P :P :P.
The game is almost identicall with AoM if it hasent been for the gamedesign. In original AoM you have too look around for buttons to proced, but now you have to find keys. and its not much monsters at all, and no overdose of freakout moments, just small suprises here and there. The mod is good, but you guys could spend another month on map making, huh?
cooool mod :D :D to bas its too short , maybe soon you could make a second chapter for it.
Wow, you spooked me pretty good with this. Fantastic job on the forboding atmosphere.
Oh my God, this mod was good. The ending was epic.
Ah, I figured it out before you listed this. First off, nice work! Plenty O' scares, nice new sounds and models, and the music was good too.
I wake up in a room, not quite sure if I am really awake. I try the door, but it doesn't open. I touch the bookcase, and it slides over to reveal a hole in the wall. I make my way through, finding blood and rust everywhere. Voices creep out at me from every direction, and as I go further and further into the building, I start having visions of monstrous beasts. I press on, wishing more than anything I had a weapon. No such luck, not for me.
More visions. Am I really awake? Finally, a weapon. One single knife with blood already on the blade. I press forward, encountering several of these horrid creatures. They make an angry noise from whatever mouth they might have and attack me. I clutch the knife tight and slash at them, taking several hits myself. I drop them, slicing the body to make sure it doesn't get back up. Bodybags everywhere. Nowhere to go. I can't give up now, I try every door I can. All locked. I try vents, one smashes and leads to a hallway. Got what I needed. I open a door and see the exit, I make a dash for it, and then...
You did a great job providing some scares in this mod. Very short yes, only one weapon. We'd all really like to see another chapter or sequel soon.
Just put the MISTAKE folder to your steam\steamapps\e-mail\half-life folder.
I've added this mod to my database and also provided another file mirror.
I've only just started it but it's nice to see soemthing new for Hlaf-Life 1!
How do we install it to run on Steam?
