Mission Improbable is a singleplayer mod for Half-Life 2: Episode 2. In it, Gordon Freeman is tasked with re-activating a Resistance listening post. From there, things quickly escalate.

Before reading on, please click here so that you can start your download! It's been a long journey to finish this project. With the first map being made and released back in 2009 and the second map being released in 2010, it has taken another 2 years for the project to be completely wrapped up.

Initially I intended to just create the final map and do some script and minor graphical upgrades to the previous levels, but while having a beer with Rick one day he suggested that he could help me out with some art to make the levels even more awesome.

"It'll only take like 2 months" he said "we'll make some new rocks and stuff, it'll be easy!" That was back in December. From then until now we've done almost complete rebuilds of the old levels, replaced almost all Half-Life 2 content with original art, and created 2 new levels as well! We have around 300 new textures being used in the mod, along with 300 new models.

It's a great feeling to finally be able to release Mission Improbable. It has been a lot of late nights and long hours to get it done, and we sincerely hope you'll enjoy playing it. In case your download hasn't finished quite yet, then you can take a look at the launch trailer below.

The download is STILL not done? Then check out this videoreview that Valvetime.net did! They reviewed a pre-release version of the mod, and awarded it an A-!

By now I hope the download is done. Again, we hope you like it, now we will go get some well-deserved rest!

The same thing happens to all HL2 mods, they start with a white screen and then automatically quit. Is there any way I can fix this problem?!?!?

For this game search the file gameinfo.txt (inside mod directory) and replace all its content with: Pastebin.com

The same fix could be used for Linux installations.

Enjoied the first few hours of gameplay so far great mod, apart from the posted hole glitch i did notice some lighting issues like not enough in some areas, where the barnicles are when you have to restart the power and a few others but other then that awesome work and cant really complain given my little knoledge of making mods.

So, I have just finished the last level after almost five hours and this is clearly the most impressive mod i've played since Black Mesa.

First, it is absolutely beautiful. I sometimes found it hard to believe that I was actually playing a source mod and the artistic direction honors the Half-Life atmosphere.

Then the level design is a lesson of fluidity and efficiency. The gameplay himself is not really original, but the puzzles are fun and simple, the gunfights are very well constructed and this is one of the very few mods where I never had to spend ten minutes wondering what the devs wanted me to do.

In fact, this campaign is so well built that it could easily have been part of the game on which it is based. We want more now!

It's like an Expansion Pack for HL2. And it's not one of those cheap Mods, this campaign is so good it could've been in the original game.
