Mission Improbable is a singleplayer mod for Half-Life 2: Episode 2. In it, Gordon Freeman is tasked with re-activating a Resistance listening post. From there, things quickly escalate.

Before reading on, please click here so that you can start your download! It's been a long journey to finish this project. With the first map being made and released back in 2009 and the second map being released in 2010, it has taken another 2 years for the project to be completely wrapped up.

Initially I intended to just create the final map and do some script and minor graphical upgrades to the previous levels, but while having a beer with Rick one day he suggested that he could help me out with some art to make the levels even more awesome.

"It'll only take like 2 months" he said "we'll make some new rocks and stuff, it'll be easy!" That was back in December. From then until now we've done almost complete rebuilds of the old levels, replaced almost all Half-Life 2 content with original art, and created 2 new levels as well! We have around 300 new textures being used in the mod, along with 300 new models.

Good evening,

I've reached the map where you get passed a Combine sniper nest, then triggers manhacks when activating an elevator aside a train bridge.

There's one of the two yellow security gates which doesn't open after the elevator get down, any idea?

I used cheat code "noclip" to go through the lift gate and then disabled it.

Have had the same problem. I guess, the three hunters should come also (according to the walktrough videos on youtube), but they didn't come. I think it's a glitch :(

Have same problem in same moment. Author please fix:
CreateInstance called on a point_template that has no templates: finale.hunters1.templ
Or at least give a hint where i can get this file, and where it should be placed.

This mod is awesome, but there a few bugs:

At first, the game can't load up because of a problem with the background image. I did hashirrocks' fix, but there were there other things too. The launched rpg rocket and crossbow models are ERRORs, and this is not as big of a problem, but the car shoots the tau cannon from the side. The worst of all is the elevator at the depot bridge, where the gate doesn't open. Would someone please help fix these so this wonderful mod can be enjoyed?

Did you fix the problem? If you didnt, I had the same problem, I just had to noclip the whole elevator thing, Which sucks.. Also, I couldn't see those those models myself.. I hate this bug..

I have this SAME exact problem

Errors on the weapons, and stuck at the elevator.

I wasn't sure if it was because my sourcemods folder is on C: and all the SDKs and EP2 are on S: or what.

I have no solution, was really enjoying this mod, but now I'm stuck at the elevator.

After watching a playthrough, I realized there are the small walkers in addition to the flying blades.

In my playthrough, only the flying blades come out, no small walkers. So even though the elevator comes down, the kill sequence of the small walkers can't be completed, therefore the elevator doesn't open?

Clearly missing some files? (which must be why the weapons are "ERROR" and no small walkers).

I dont think it has anything to do with missing files, Cuz if you load up HL2:Ep2, I doubt you will see error on crossbow and stuff.. Its just a bug, Thats all. Nothing you can do about it, Just the mods devs can..

This game, at first, Gave me the error message saying that it can't find background image/materials/console/startup_loading.vtf, Then, When I tried the suggestion about changing the gameinfo.txt, It loaded movie at the start, But then it crashed/went to the desktop. I would really love to play this mod, And I hope the devs reply to me soon...

I noticed that you could not start a new game if you placed the previous code in Gameinfo.txt. So I did a little editing and it worked! Replace all the code in Gameinfo.txt with the code listed here:

yeah that fix has been around since last year. Its why the vast majority of mods don't have any special fixes. So far Provenance has one major bug with marines unable to be killed by the player, Triage/Human Error/Missing Information require extracting hl ep1 and ep2 files, City 7 Toronto conflict has a broken scripted sequence in the beginning (making you skip the map and missing a fight) and Black Snow doesn't work at all among others.

It's like an Expansion Pack for HL2. And it's not one of those cheap Mods, this campaign is so good it could've been in the original game.
