Missing Information aims to recreate Valve's original Half-Life 2 storyline found in Raising the Bar.
I've always been a fan of the Beta style, content & concepts and I cherish my hard copy of Raising The Bar. The MI team has meticulously gone through the mess of data that was the leak and have presented a functional and fun mod that shows us what could have been. Although I consider MI more of a beefed up tech demo than an actual mod, it nonetheless provides a fun experience and some great content.
The mod is a good remake of the beta exept for a few reasons. One The developers are lazy, and almost never give updats on the mods progress. Another reason is that the latest update has removed two maps. Now your thinking " Oh it probably takes a long time to recreate the beta." Well I have looked into the missing information folder and found all of the beta sound files, and a **** load of model files.
Great mod, watched it polished from rough hl2beta scetch maps to full-fledged maps ready to deploy. Love atmosphere of good old days... I think I was right about the Half-Life universe: mystery and reticence adds almost half of HL spirit. Something happened, and you see only result, digging for root on your own. Means, doing some RESEARCH. And it's good. VALVe removed much darkness and mystic from universe, and it cries to bring it back. MI is something worth to play.
PS. From someday on the bottom of my mind I thinking that HL is WEIRD game, and this makes it attractive. HL2 vanilla is much less weird, sad but true.
There are many reasons for why I gave this mod a 4. For one, although the story was intriguing, the name of the mod really describes what the mod is like. There is so much stuff missing, the game is completely bugged out, etc. etc. I'm pretty sure they just pulled all of this **** straight from a HL2 Beta leak.
