We are pleased to say that Missing Information has been approved through Steam's Greenlight program! In just two short weeks after submitting the mod, we reached 14th place on Greenlight's top 100 and got final approval on October 1. This will allow us to fix bugs and push out updates sooner than before rather than having our fans worry about downloading patches in archives. Thank-you to everyone who voted for us.

So obviously this means that despite what some people on the internet would have you believe, the project is not dead. Real life took priority for many of us after 1.6, but the hiatus from the mod has done us some good. Most of the old gang is back together along with some new faces and we are working hard on porting everything over to our new Steam version. The first release will be a fixed version of Missing Information 1.6 ported to the Source 2013 engine which will resolve all the missing texture issues caused by the SteamPipe update. We will also have some new maps included in this version. The first of these is "Streetwar" which is a combat map based on an old City 17 map with architecture that never found its way into the final game. The next is "Terminal" which is an adaptation of Team GabeN's elusive fix that features the gloomy City 17 atmosphere that everyone loves so much.

As well, for those who were worried about us selling out like Black Mesa did, this mod will remain a free download on Steam.

I dont get why you "try" to recreate Half Life 2 original storyline, but realease a "Full" 1.6 version, where its only snippets.

I thought that this mod would fix the problems in the leaked maps and push it as a a mod. yes, there may be holes, but 6 maps isnt appealing.

You release a "full" version, that only has 6 broken maps. I needed noclip to progress at some points. That is not full.

And I am guessing you are releasing full versions, since you never say that they are alpha/beta.

Oh well, you did a good job, but you never pushed the mod trough. You just released a weeks (I mean the hours worth working on, does not include free time) worth of fixes and modelling.

It so sad that you do not make this a normal mod. If at least you did a normal first part, it would be ok. That would be more than enough for 3 years to enjoy. Imagine samuel talking to you for 10 minutes. Now you just released snippets that are enough to make you sad for 3 years.

The mod is really really underdeveloped. If you want to do a mod, you gotta do it. Yes, you can drop it, but either you do it or you just go away from modding forever.

So my point: The mod is short and moderate in quality. Its like a E3 Engine Demo, of a 10 year engine.

Yes you did some models, but just doing models and fixes to revive the HL2 old storyline ain't gonna work. You need to put time and effort into it, not fix some parts and release them as a mod. Those parts dont even make sense.

But the borealis chapter was awsome. I would **** my pants if it was realy included in HL2. That chapter is the only good part. Maybe even the best of all the HL2 revivals.

Hmm People are really butthurt.

But still, the mod was a letdown for me. I thought this was going to be THE FIX.

OH well...

Because you're basically ****** on our work. I've debated a lot whether I should give you the attention of a reply or not because you clearly don't understand the amount of work that's been put into creating this, whether you like it or not.

Yes I am ******** on your work. Not the Hyperborea chapter, which was the ONLY thing good in this mod, But I am ******** on the extra maps. They were worked on for 1 week, by the looks of it.

Yes, You did make an awsome chapter, but the extras were the worst.

I wouldnt bitch around if you would only release the Hyperborea Chapter in its own mod.
Now you realeased a pile of **** with a gold bar in it.

I am very much eager to use the "why don't you try and make something better" argument.
I don't understand you problem, pal. The maps are fine. The whole mod is fine. How would it be -better- with -less- maps in it? The team presented the playable E3 demonstration to people in its best form, with most features preserved and with looks a bit better. Since then, no one really needs to redo them, because it would be either exactly same or somehow twisted. And I don't see why we would want that.

Maybe you should read the disclaimer that's forced on your screen while playing the e3 maps, *******.

Come back when you've learned to read.

Kazemeka Aug 10 2015 replied:

I didnt see no E3 maps disclaimer.

IF you want proof wait a couple of days until I install the mod again and photo it. But then agian, my previous install may have been corrupted.

I would actually do it myself, If I wasnt doing another "Do it yourself" project.

Even if your previous install was somehow messed with it'd still show the disclaimer.

Sounds like you might have downloaded our 1.5 release.

Nope 1.6

The only e3 disclamer was on the zombie level and the tech demo. Afterwards, none.

What did you expect from the mod in the first place? Sounds like you've made your expectations too high and now blame the creators for not satisfying them. Makes no sense.

Kazemeka Aug 12 2015 replied:

I expected the maps to FULLY work at least.

Thats what not satisfied.

The only thing that satisfies is the borealis chapter.

Cvoxalury Aug 12 2015 replied:

They do fully work for most people. There's always some percentage of bugs and errors but there is no need to be that butthurt about it. You could've just calmed down and made your queries regarding actual problems instead of simply going 'the mod is ****, maps don't work'.
But this is probably too hard for some.

However I don't think this is all. Among your lines were some like "I expected it to be the fix" and "why only release snipperts". Still makes no sense to me.

Kazemeka Aug 13 2015 replied:

"I Expected it to be THE FIX"- I expected it to fix the beta maps.
"Why only realese snippets"- Why only release maps that do not have connections between them?

And I was butthurt because this was "Full". Full must be bug-free. Ok, there may be some bugs, like props in the air, but No bugs, that ruin the flow of the game.

This modification not only follows the original valve art style but is also keeping users up-to-date again. With moronic individuals posting 5's out of 10 because of their lack of interest or understanding of a project of this scale, this leaves fans with pretty much all the knowledge of the Half-Life universe to rate a 10/10 and give information to support. Half-Life 2 was to have a 50+ hour campaign and have over 20 weapons. Fun fact: The Borealis in fact was owned by a scientific research team…

Well, it is a great mod, there have really been some work in this, but there is also some big glitches that makes it... bad. The stalker-looking enemies is not well made, they doesn't look good, but a nice detail with the laser, but it damaging a little too much. And if you have passed a checkpoint/loading screen, you can't go back without it crashes (or at least it was what happened to me). Then your partner tries to walk down stairs, he just flyes around it, walking in walls and so on, undtil…
