1P29 is a lightweight scope with 4x magnification directly copied from british Trilux design. It is available for AK series rifles instead of PSO-1.

I used that scope many time when i played BF2 MOD called Project Reality.
Project Reality is a piece of art! always liked the damn thing! really, a master piece for such a game.
I agreed its a master piece / i hope SQUAD will be too.
Well the scope work looks really good, although Im not a huge fan of it in AO3.
Soething that concerns me is the fact that this is replacing the PSO. That scope as been a signature scope for most AK rifles in Stalker games, and having that completly removed kinda sadness me.
Dont get me wrong. Like I said this new scope looks really good, but I wish that we could have the oportunity to chose between this and the PSO, or in other words the hability to select diferent scopes much like AO allows. If such a thing isnt possible then I guess I will have no choice but to live with it if I want to play Misery with TAZ, although I would fell like the mod is missing out on the old PSO.
The PSO was made for SVD and wasn't really used on AKs, 1P29 is a dedicated optic for it.
Apart from that there's also more pragmatic thing, AK models we have come from STCoP and they're outfitted with this scope by default. Editing these models can cause them to break so mp5lng decided to leave them as they are.
It's a good change to have this scope instead of the well known PSO, and still we are using the PSO for many other models, some AKM variants, some RPK74 variants, the SVD as Kuba said, VSS, and many others.
I'm very aware of what AO brings, and I thought about it deeply, so here is the thing : we all know that Misery has 200+ weapons, and a huge amount of these weapons uses scopes, let's take the AKS74 as an example, the ALT model can mount a scope, to make this very variant uses three different sights we have to add three different sections, each section defines a sight, Kobra, PSO, and 1P29, and a parent section with no sights "mostly", so now we ended with four sections for one single variant, now do the same to the rest of the AKS74 variants, or at least those which you can mount a scope to, how many sections you'll end up with ? I believe the AKS74 alone has six variants, six by four equal 24, 24 bloody section just for the damn AKS74, dude.....I ain't doing that xD it'll kill me, Kuba, and who the hell ever thinks about doing so :D plus it will kill the game for all mid-rig machines, the heavy load of more than 600 weapons, all are the same but multiplied because of the additional sections.
However, we are planning to add the scopes attachment system, but it will be applied mostly to NATO weapons, M4A1, LR300, even Sniper rifles like the SVD may get the Kobra sight for a change, it is realistic too, and there is also a little chance that pistols will be treated the same.
I supose this is for the best. At least its something new to try. RIP PSO. :(
Look at the bright side dude, it's not a big loss after all, just a few weapons have lost the ability of attaching the PSO, but we have way so much good toys to have fun with, I'm sure the new vanilla models will make it up for you, right now ALL vanilla weapons are done, nothing is left "with the exception of non-available HQ models :GP-100 and very few", and there is 99 new weapons, and the list is to be expanded to the eternity :3
I don't know, I don't like this scope.
For me, is the combi AK and PSO iconic. Yeah, isn't realistic, but is my baby. Or give my a replacement for the PSO.
Perhaps the 1P29 is indeed used, but for me it is a terrible scope design. This thick line from the top is terrible. I just found this site:

Just like what I said in my other comment, adding different scopes to one model requires a lot of work given the current engine, this will be a whole different story if we get our hands on Shoker 3 or Gunslinger as they use one single model for multiple scopes.
Giving up a whole mod just because it does not have your favorite scope may not be a good idea, and I have mentioned that several other AK weapons are still going to use the PSO, but hey! it is your choice, no one is forcing you to do anything.

And I have not even said I'll throw it out immediately. That wouldnt be fair compared to the hard work of the team. Maybe I'll find my balance. Dont responds the Shoker 3 team of any your requests? Or was there no inquiry?

I did not check with Shoker team, even if I do I don't think they would allow anybody to use their right now, it is still a WIP, but I believe we are free to use it once released, so this is what we're hoping for and willing to do.

I will also make a set of illuminated scopes so you can choose between them.
