The true method of knowledge is experiment. So, strapped to the underside of a stolen Combine helicopter, you're part of my latest scientific investigation.

Metastasis is a Half-Life 2 singleplayer episode in three parts, and the first of the MINERVA series.
Wow, that's a big picture for the front page... :/
just played it through, really enjoyed it.
Looking forward to learning more of the story :D
How did this get approved with such a large image size?
I just finished playing through it, very fun gameplay. :)
Awesome mod dude! Keep it up! I was a little dissappointed though when I didn't get to find out what the combine were really doing...:(
Been looking foward to this ever since I heard the guy behind Someplace Else was making a Half-Life 2 mod. Downloading ASAP...
it got approved cause it said RELEASED, and its not like its multiple big pics, and that pic is like a the size of a large newspost. and from what i've observed, everything that says RELEASED makes it on the front page.
...Good fun, can't wait for the next!
I had my doubts, but this small episode has crushed those down to grains of their former selves. I loved this episode from the very instant I started. It had a great atmosphere, difficulty, level, music, suspense, etc. (I have played about every HL1 mod, so I know what to expect in a great mod, and this one has the stuff!) The suspense this mod provided was a much needed reminder that HL2 mods in the future should achieve or excel this type of caliber!
The backstory seems like a very nice touch as well, although the disembodied messages dont seem rather comforting to the situation at hand. Dont get me wrong though.. I didnt dislike it, it was just disconcerting. It reminded me of a mod I played a few years back. Some map pack with a weird messaging "voice" in it as well. Any relation to it? Anyways, Nice to see it again.
I am really, REALLY looking forward to more episodes of MINERVA. I think I will go play it again right now...
Cant edit, but didnt see that link on the site which refered to the mod "Project Quantum Leap" You dont know how long I waited to see if another mod like that would pop up. It had to be one of my favorites back then. Just thought you should know.
I'm having trouble installing this game.
I unzip the file into the directory stated in the readme but when i load it up it just comes up with the orignal hl2 game with the text all messed up and starting the game there are no levels. Any help would be appricated.
Did you extract all the files?
Wohoooooo! Minerva has been released!!! :D
I was wondering how I was going to spend the rest of this day, and now I know!
Thanks Adam!
There was a sequel to PQL! :o

Me being a plum.
Played it and I thought it was well put together. Good design. Looking forward to the next part :D
Mod owned. Only annoying thing was not being able to reread the cool messages after they pass by.
Also, the mirror img03.beerintheevening.com didn't work. The others do.
very very cool, if a bit short. but then the quanity trade off was well worth it for the quality.
cant wait for the next one
Great, great stuff here.
The sequence of events and story flow was spot on, and the music was very complimentary to the game play. The pace of action and suspense went hand in hand and were a good asset to the gameplay. The level design was some of the best I've seen in HL2 mods yet; you've got some talent for blueprinting! :D I'm excited to see the release of the following parts. Great work, mate.
keep up the good work!
I'm having the same issue as prob101
The game shows up in the Steam list, but when I load it it just loads up the usual HL2 screen with text all goofed up, and no levels in the "start new game" screen.
Any ideas?
I really enjoyed playing this and the level map design is great - i love the circular island :) Looking forward to the next chapter :)
