Hey guys,

My name is Kjell Bunjes and I am the Team Leader & Art Director of the upcoming Action Adventure Mindworld: Shattered Dreams. The team consists of people who are either working professionally in the industry for years or are ambitious to do so. We are currently looking for a Source Level Designer, who is capable of realizing the visions of our concept artists.

You can check the game's page with in-game screenshots right here: Moddb.com

Your task would be to create the level designs and impliment VFX and all of the new 3D assets of our team.

Requirements:

• Efficient and fast workflow
• Strong foundation skills (knowing the ins and outs of Source, etc.)
• Well-organized data management
• Teamplayer
• Past work to show

Bonus:

• Strong skills in 3D art
• Experience in concept art
• Experienced with single client work
• Experienced with studio work
• Online Portfolio

You are going to work along with many other artists in the team and are not only going to be responsible for the realization of the level design plans, but also give creative input on how level designs could be optimized visually and technically. Therefor communication skills and a talent in organization are very important to us.

Your task:

The main task you are going to have is to create full levels from basic geometry to implimenting VFX and the soundscapes. Our concept artists are going to aid you throughout the process of development. You are going to get any material you need from level plans to detail shots of each scene, if necessary. In addition one of our composers is creating various soundscapes for each part of the level to help you create the right atmospheres.

Benefits:

While there are no monetary rewards, this position gives the great chance to not only gain experience in the common fields of level design, but also challenges you with in-depth design-thinking. It is required to give constructive critism and simply push the designs to the limits to give the player the best gaming experience possible. In addition, we are always trying to help our team members in their career, which means that, if you need certain material for your portfolio, we are going to deliver it (for example video editing and post production for the footage).

We are working with set color palettes in concept art and master designs to make sure that we stay focussed and produce high quality content at any point.

Required time:

The full position requires a minimum of 8-10 hours per week. But keep in mind that you are going to use time beside that calculation for communication and organization (1-2 hours added on top). It's very important that you can react fast to e-mails and inquiries via smart phone or any other devices.

We use our forums, DropBox, SVN and Skype for the exchange of data and information. Further concept art, level plans, VFX or 3D work can be seen upon request.
